Ok this is probably one of the dumbest topics that has been posted round here but bear with me...
In June we flew 4000 miles to spend a few days at Cedar Point and we loved pretty much every minute of it. Been an eccentric Brit I somehow managed to get addicted to the soothing tones of the ride ops sending cars on their way and welcoming them upon their return.
So my question is does anyone have any video/audio recordings of the ride ops doing their jobs? What I'd really like is the audio for a ride op saying "Enjoy your ride on the Blue Streak" and a copy of the guy who always says "Awesome" after asking "How was your riiiiide?".
Like I said, it's undoubtedly a dumb thread but I've been unable to get the "How was your riiiiide?" - *cheers* - "Awesome" thing out of my head for more than a couple of hours at a time. I guess what I should have done was made a video recording or something but things are so much easier with the benefit of hindsight...
Kettley, I was a ride host in 2002 and still have my spiel memorized. I wouldn't mind making a tape of it and sending it to you. I'll even pay for the postage. Let me know what you want.
Hi Kettley, Welcome to pointbuzz. I have a few of the spiels that someone on this board emailed to who ever wanted them. I can get you the screen name or I can email them my self. I dont think they are quite what you are looking for but they may have some of it. Let me know if your interested.

Now CP, aren't you glad you ditched the autospiels before this person came to the park? :) For the past several years, it seemed like CP was moving away from the human spiels in favor of auto spiels with a lot of lame legal language and no personality. I'm glad they decided to go back to the real thing as it is certainly one of a number of things that sets CP apart.

Honestly I really did enjoy the auto spiels better, I am aware that many people did not, but I thought it gave that feel that we are moveing on in life and the technical aspect popped out. Then again, I run two websites, have 8 computers, run to cp all the time, run lights, and movies in my basement for neighbors and much more. I just love the tech stuff, and it gave me the feel like I was at home. Also no offense to the ride ops, but I cannot understand some of you. And the spiels helped there. Though ive been so many times i no longer listen anymore and the iron dragon speil and the cork screw spiel with the little girl voice kills and you are almost forced to listen to them because of it. *** Edited 7/16/2006 2:34:36 AM UTC by cedarpoint24/7***

I blame the speakers for what some of the ride ops sound like. I forget if this was at Cedar Point, but it almost always sounds Charlie Brown teacher like. Waaawawawoowaawoo!
I heard and autospiel over and over at Corkscrew in June.
I sware after hearing that twice I was ready to shoot someone >_<
Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~

i know what your talkin about..i heard that when i was at the point the last time...kinda pointless and sad
One of the guys who does the Gemini speil is greeeaaat. Just a few of the funny quotes i remember:
"enjoy the rest of your day at Cedar Point, where birds attack."
"We'll be taking you up a *spooky* 125 feet!" (and no, it wasn't halloweekends) I'd generously pay for a days worth of audio from this guy. He is funny.
I'd also pay for this: "arms down...... arms down...... arms down...... arms *whooooosh*" :)
I love the guy for Wicked Twister who spices up the launch count and says "wickkkkeddd' and other random things that i cannot understand.
The Corkscrew and Iron Dragon speil SUCKS. I don't think the GP like it either. I asked a Corkscrew crew member about how he deals with it, and he said he completely blocks it out. The fact that it doesn't pause at all makes it that much worse.

I think one of the great things about Cedar Point is coming back to hear that stuff. Not wearing out on it when I am not there. ;)
The cheering and getting the red and blue train all geeked up before riding is something you never saw the past few years. It brought a whole new atmosphere to Gemini's station. It made my day better, so it had to work on others as well.
I've seen the same thing on TTD this season as well.
Whose choice was it to drop the autospeils?
I'm guessing John H. (it's to late to figure out how to spell his last name) had something to do with it.

The word I got was it was actually Jack Falfas who walked into a ride operations employee training session right before the season started and told everyone they were going back to manual spiels because they were good for the park's character and morale. If this story is indeed true, he was right and I commend him for taking that action. It's one of a few little things that are making this season better than last.
Now I know I'm getting greedy here, but a sign for Magnum's entrance would be a nice next step... ;)

No. Magnum is one of those hidden gems that only those of us in know know about. And those who discover it by accident. That cue line is one of the best in the park because of the natural shade.

I agree that for selfish reasons, I'd like it to remain as is. I dig the short line for a great ride. But for the good of the patrons and the ride's (already impressive) numbers, I'd like to see a sign. :)

Well well, lets talk to the best spieler in the park! Thats right i won the Spectacular Spieler award. So i think next time you should stop by Skyhawk and listen to me :) haha just kidding.
