Ride Improvements

Face the facts, MF is probably the best, most awesome coaster we have ridden, but what could make it more awesome? I think something that makes noise like the Magnum use to have in it's tunnel at the end. *** This post was edited by Chock on 12/29/2000. ***

What about strobe lights and fog in MF's tunnels? Or has this been done...haven't ridden it yet, going June 2001 :)

Well, the on-ride photo section in MF's 2nd tunnel looks like a strobe light, but there is no fog in the tunnels. I agree that fog and strobies in the tunnels would be cool, but frankly you zip through the 1st tunnel so fast you'd hardly notice the strobe, and the on-ride photo is hard to catch in the second tunnel as well.

I was looking at the pictures of MF on the official site yesterday, and I thought that another bunny hill could be added on the straight-away before the last over-banked turn. But I think they made it a straight-away was to add the freak-out effect to people standing in line, since the trains fly by so fast.

Definitely adding the fog and REAL strobe lights to the tunnels would be nice - it would also be cool if CP would at least attempt theming (of course, we have all seen CP ATTEMPT theming - DT).

I never evan noticed a strobe in the first tunnel. Not even while I was watching MF at night did I see any light. Is there even one in there?

There should be the type of fog, like a kind you can smell. Then, they should make it so dense, that even for that 1 split second your in it, you can't see and only smell the fog!

No, monster ride op, there are no strobes in the first tunnel, and the strobe in the second tunnel is simply the on-ride photo camera.

IMPROVE Millennium Force? Well, unless they could make the lift hill 500' and the top speed exceed 110 mph I can't see anything worth changing. MF is sleek, steel perfection. Adding fog and strobes wouldn't (couldn't!), in my opinion, improve a thing. How does one improve what is already perfect?

I think they could have made the tunnels a bit longer. It would be cool for the second tunnel to come all the way to the middle of the station. So it would freak the waiting guest out. I was sort of disappointed when I saw the tunnels in real life, after looking at the map they posted at cedarpoint.com.

Improving Millenium Force is like trying to fix something that isn't broken. In other words, it's just fine the way it is.

Hi,

The only thing that would improve the ride IMO. How about one or two more bunny hops on the return run ? I think the only reason those come to mind is an automatic comparison to Magnum, which by far has the greatest return run of any coaster I have been on.

i actually dont think that there is much room for a bunny hop on that stretch. And anyway, when was the last time a major rollercoaster got a bunny hop squeezed in? It was designed right and probably so that something couldn't have been added. It is fine, but people will always be looking forward and thinking better though.

I think there could be another one after it turns left for the last time. I think the reason there is none, is to get the guests exicied as it flies by the queue.

Getting guests excited??? wouldn't that be theming??? And we know CP can't do that. ;)

I was just being hypothetical, I agree that there is no room for another bunny hop (Perhaps that being the reason there is only one). The ride is great the way it is, if I want bunny hops, I'll go ride Magnum.

I don't think that bunny hop there is even that good, I think it needed to be longer, for more airtime. But we get what they give, and that is the Millennium Force, the best coaster in the world!
