Ride Entrance Cartoon Signs

Does anyone know what happened to the old ride entrance signs that had the great "cartoon-style" artwork illustrating the ride's name, restrictions and incorporating the height requirement stick? I fondly remember the witch from witches wheel, the twirling barrel from Corkscrew and the red devil from Demon Drop, among others. Are they just decaying in the boneyard or will they be popping up on Ebay anytime soon?

I remember the Magnum space man how bout you?

Now that you mention it... I had forgoten about those. They were pretty cool.

The lawyers weasled them all away......

I actually have read the load of meaningless crap on the current signs, and it is a load of meaningless crap. That'd be cool if they still had the old signs, though, it would make the park a little more fun and interesting.

I was sad to see those go myself. Believe it or not but I used to wonder what the sign would look like when a new ride came out. When you reminisce about the signs, don't forget about the astronaut on Gemeni (I never understood that as a kid), the super hero with lightning bolts on Blue Streak, and the cowboy with bolts on Mean Streak. I don't remember Raptor having one (if it did I think it was just the logo or something) but Mantis had some wierd looking mantis dreessed in jeans and a t-shirt...it was really wierd. Ah, those were the good old days...

Yeah mine is half the size of the origional.

Thanks for the link to the pictures! I miss those signs. I took my picture in front of the old Schwabinchen sign one year. I miss that ride too.

I always thought the Superhero on Blue Streak and the Cowboy on Mean Streak were caricatures of Jack Falfas, who I think really likes wooden coasters. Anyone know if I'm right?

i believe that this is a cartoon sign you guys r talking about its on the cp website i don't know whacih ride this might go to but i belive its what your talking about!

I remember the Magnum sign was really misleading and cruel to little kids...

My nephew saw the sign when he was 5 yrs old. He said that he wanted to ride the "spaceman" ride, not knowing what he was actually getting into. He really liked Star wars and that reminded him of a stormtrooper. After the ride, his knees buckled and he was shaking...

It's a real surprise he rides coasters today... lol ;)
