While listening to the Cedar Fair stockholders 1st quarter conference call, the RFID wristband was mentioned as being used at Dorney Park in 2013. It was then stated that 2 parks will be using them in 2014, one being Cedar Point. Has anyone seen or heard about this concept for the upcoming season? The conference call said it will be used for season pass holders. You can listen to it at this link http://www.media-server.com/m/p/xeu8ntmq The RFID discussion is around the 22:15 mark.

Dorney is my home park and we used the bracelets last season. I thought they we great. It was nice to just give my kids a preloaded wristband with $20 on it. We never had a problem using them. and its nice is the water park to lock your wallet up in a locker, because your money is on the bracelet. Almost all food and merchandise stands had the readers, games did not, But we were told they should this season. If I remember correctly, they were free if you were a season pass holder and started it with a $50 deposit. Season pass holders got the reusable silicon ones They money never expires, so any money left from last year is still on the bracelets. I don't know if they are good park to park, because we travel to 4 different Cedar Fair parks.
Thanks for the info, 9 hour. For security purposes, how did they control the right person using his wristband? Does your pic show up on the entrance gate screen? And does the RFID work at the entrance gate for free parking? This would be great for those that use both Soak City and CP the same day. Maybe no stamps for re-entry. I hope CP gets this program in effect ASAP. Thanks.
