I will say right now that I have no problem getting in any of the rides at CP. I am not fat, just big.(6'5" 220 Lbs.) I am actually quite proud of the fact that the Raptor harness clicks into its lowest position at the end of the ride. The restraints do get uncomfortable for me sometimes. I would like the Magnum better than the Force, but the Force is the most conformable ride I have ever been on and there is zero leg room in the rear parts of the individual trains on Magnum.
What upsets me the most is probably the Mantis. If I were An inch taller there is no way I could ride. And on top of that, I feel real bad for some of the people on Raptor and Mantis who dont fit and cant ride. Also, They have the seat there in the entrance for the Raptor, but not the Mantis which makes no sense.
People are not getting shorter, and I hope CP continues to purchase rides like MF that are tall, and large people friendly. Arrow Loopers are the worst at this. On the Corkscrew, soon As I begin to click down the harness it already is digging into my shoulders. From a business standpoint, It makes no sense to cater rides to smaller children. A 48" tall kid will spend no money at the park because they are most likely brought by there parents. A 6' 8" guy who will spend lots of money may not want to go now because they made most of the rides for smaller children in mind instead of him. The kids are going to be taller for most of there life's than shorter anyway.
Itamin did a great Job with the Force, as well as other Hypers Like S:ROS. Both smaller children and larger people can fit in these rides. I think All manufactures should follow their suit.

The restraints are made to fit the average person. Thats why some of them may be restricting to larger people.

If she weighs as much as a duck, she's made of wood, and therefore a witch.
Apparently when the old arrow mine rides were built everyone was one size cuz that's how those feel.

Phoenix-A great town and a great coaster
I think that B & m puts in a few "larger" seats on there coasters.i belive that mantis has this as well.
Mantis (and Raptor) were built before B & M started installing the larger seats on their trains. Weird thing is that my fiance is 6'6" and can ride on Mantis but not on Raptor!
Batman at SFO has the large people seats.
They are distingusihed with two safety belts.
Yeah, they have the seats for the larger people in the back on the coasters at IOA. This really helps the momentum of the train. :)
I know when I went to Geauga Lake (before it was SFO), they had not only a minimum height requirement, but a maximum -- IE, if you're taller than this, you won't fit in the restraints. I think it would be a good policy for Cedar Point to have some information like that available, especially for Mantis, which (as was mentioned), doesn't have a seat available to try before you wait in line.

That maximum height limit at Geauga Lake was for Serial Thriller. The only place I've visited where it is rigidly enforced is Canada's Wonderland (most parks instead adhere to the limit of, "If your feet touch the floor, you're too tall" rather than imposing a strict maximum height). All of the Vekoma Suspended Looping Coaster models have a maximum height restriction because if your legs are too long, there are places where you could touch structure. I don't remember seeing it on Serial Thriller, but on Adventure World's Mind Eraser there are actually support columns with notches cut in the side to keep clear of riders' feet!

Actually SROS at SFNE also has a maximum height limit, it's on the sign and everything.
I'm little, so it isn't a problem with me. :)
Of course, I still get measured on Witches' Wheel...hmm...

I'm pretty sure that Dueling dragons at IOA has a maximum height requirement also.
Just back from IOA and they had no max. height requirement.
Nat..
What's the limit on ROS??? I'm 6'5" and I'll be DAMNED is I won't walk on my knees to ride it this summer...

MF 2000 - 269 laps
Why would they need a height limit on ROS? MF doesn't have one and isn't it the same type of restraint? Oh Well, maybe people have lost their heads.
As for height restrictions on Inverts with feet clearance issues, that doesn't make much sense to me. Vekoma is cutting it that close? The only part of the body that hangs from the seat is from the knee down, which is only a fraction of what makes up the height of a person (I'll say 1/4th). So the difference between that length on 6' person and a 7' may only be 3 inches, about the distance between the Q and the T on the keyboard, if you are using a standard QWERTY board. Also people who are shorter may have longer legs than a taller person.

...Which is why most parks that have SLCs seem to use a standard of "OK if your feet don't reach the floor in the station" instead of an actual maximum overall height.
--Dave Althoff, Jr.
Why is there a height minimum on inverteds?
Which parks limits heigth on their SLC's? I have only been on the one at SFO and this wasn't being enforced then.
