Hello everybody. I'm a new member here at PB, although I've been around here a lot as a guest for about a year. I'm going to CP for three nights in late July, and I was just wondering what you guys would recommended in the way of restaurants. On my last trip to CP I tried eating at Dominics in the Breakers, but that was horrible. I found that my next choice, Famous Dave's, was much better, however I didn't try the Harbour Inn. Would you recommend the Inn? And any further suggestions on both lunch and dinner eating spots would be great. Thanks.
Harbour Inn is a bit more "upscale". You would be wise to make reservations if you wish to eat there.
I agree with Ben...Famous Dave's, Midway Market buffet and TGI Friday's. I also like the Breakwater Cafe, but it's quite a hike since it's on the "point" of the penninsula near the Sand Castle Suites.
Macaroni's isn't bad either.
I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead
I'll take Macaroni's over Midway Market any day. Johnny Rockets isn't bad if you don't mind watching your server dance while your belly grumbles. The service there can be shaky at times.

Does anybody else miss The Boathouse? It seemed that nobody ever went there but they served Montgomery Inn Ribs, which are the greatest ribs I have ever had. Famous Dave's is fine and all, but at least for me, I can go 5 miles down the street to Famous Dave's... Getting Montgomery Inn Ribs was much more of a treat.
Now I have to make a detour when I go to Kings Island if I want to eat there.
Another Cincinnati/Kings Island restaurant I would like to see CP get is Skyline Chili. Yes, I know its another chain, but I love their Chili Dogs! They have them in Cleveland and in the Toledo area, and I think it would do great at CP.
Ripcord Crew 2002 / MF Crew 2004
Thanks for everyone's help, I'll be sure to go back to Famous Dave's and give Midway Market, Macaroni's, and Game Day Grille a try as well. A couple of people have suggested TGI Friday's, but I found it to be dirty when I went last year. Maybe the renovations have helped with that?
I have eaten at Bay Harbour Inn. What a great restaurant. I agree with OldCPer, it is upscale. I would wear something better than shorts and a t-shirt. My steak was awesome that I had there! It melted in my mouth. I am getting hungry now!
Midway Market for the best deal all around. Eat before 3pm (prices used to go up after 3, not sure if they still do) and your drink and dessert are included in your meal.

I remember that place I went there sometimes but it was pretty good. I remember the ribs somewhat I knew my cousin loved them.

I went to the boathouse a couple times, and got those sweet potato fries both times. I haven't been since it became Famous Daves. Went to Breakwater last year and got the Lake Erie Perch sandwich, which was 2 tiny fillets with mayo and lettuce on a huge bun. Next time I'll just get the personal pan pizza. Macaroni Grill has been good the last 2 years, as has Johnny Rockets, although I think I could go a decade without hearing Love Shack again. I'm curious how Chick Fil-A is there, along with Panda Express. Skyline would be a nice addition Josh, I used to always hit the one at KI.

Didn't they change that into something else this year, or did that change never end up happening? I saw somewhere a while back that it was going to become some sort of a sports bar kind of place, but I never herd it mentioned again after that.
Breakwater used to have an awesome menu, but I walked out there last summer and found out the whole menu had changed (and got a lot more expensive) so I didn't even go inside.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you

I eat at bay Harbor almost everytime I am there. To me it is the only place to get real food in the whole park. The Famous Daves is so overpriced it is not even funny (compared to my local FD) and I have always hated Fridays.
The Sea Bass is to die for and their wine selection is not to shabby. It's not to pricey for the quality of food.
For mid day grubbin without exiting the park I like Midway Market. I have yet to try Macaronis. I'll have to try it since Jugga John suggested it.

There is a place just down the road from Cedar Point called "Thirsty Pony" and it is a great place to eat. Although it isn't in the park, it's literally a two minute drive.
Thanks for being so helpful, everybody! By the sounds of it, I'll have to give the Bay Harbour Inn a try.
I was suprised to see your comment on Fridays.
If its nice you can eat outside under the lights right on the water...nice.
But if you want really good seafood, Bay Harbour Inn is an excellent choice.
Promoter of fog.
Honestly, food selection is the low point for any of our trips to the point, especially since Chuck Wagon's menu got hijacked by the defunct Frontier Inn... Maybe I'm still bitter about that, but anyway...
Midway Market- A great place to eat lunch. You can make some kick-arse fajitas and tacos...
Macaroni's- This place is growing on me. We usually eat there for dinner once per visit. I love the Philly Steak Sandwich, which comes with a huge mound of fries. Not a bad deal.
Panda Express- This has long been my favorite fast-food Chinese, so if you like it, go there. I've eaten there once, and the food was as good and fresh as the other Pandas... Unfortunately, my son doesn't like it.
TGIF- Last weekend at Breakers, I heard some dude say "take a normal TGI menu and $5 to the price of each item." That's a fair assessment of Fridays On The Beach, but if you really like their food, I guess it's worth it. Personally, I miss their breakfast buffet which kicked the crap out of the one at the Breakers Coffee Shop...
Mama Chetta's/Pizza Hut- There's a pizza buffet here after 5PM, but since we always stay at Breakers, I will usually order a pizza for take-out once or twice per visit. It's an economical meal, and their pizza is quite good. We tried the buffet on opening weekend, but the pizza wasn't particularly fresh, and the breadsticks were rock-hard.
Yeah, I like talking about food...

TGIF no longer has the breakfast buffet? That's too bad, because I always enjoyed it when I stayed at Breakers for my Halloweekends trip each year.

Cedar Point rocks my socks.
I'm assuming it's gone. During my three visits this year, including 8 nights at Breakers, it hasn't been open for breakfast. Maybe they'll bring it back during the "peak" season...
