Resorts question

Is Sandcastle Suites right next to CP where you can walk there?

Yes. Its on the Cedar Point Peninsula and it is within walking distance of the park.

Do you know like how many minutes it takes to walk there?

5-10 would be my best guess.

It looks like a really crummy hotel. Is it?

Never stayed there, but I've never really heard anything bad about a CP resort. I've been to the Breakers before (very nice) and I'm returning to camper village at the end of the week for my 2nd time.

I don't think it is really that bad, but it is a bit too pricey. If you are going to spend that much money, stay at the Breakers or Lighthouse Point. The Breakers is a much better atmosphere than the Sandcastle. It also has a T.G.I. Fridays in it.

Most people that have stayed there think it's overpriced for what it is, and that it was built on the cheap. Walt stayed there a few years ago.

They should tear it down and put in a bunch of LHP style cabins. I've never stayed there, but I've yet to hear a really good review.

We weren't impressed with Sandcastle for the money. The view and location are great, but the rooms weren't that nice. I stayed at an Embassy Suites last week for work and that room was more in line with what I'd expect from a "suite."

I'd recommend Lighthouse Point or Breakers.

I wanted to stay at Breakers, but it's all booked!

I hope (but doubt) Lighthouse Point isn't. It's better than Breakers, IMHO.

If Sandcastle is your only option, go for it. While we're weren't impressed, it wasn't a dive either. The rooms are adequate.
