Resorts

Sorry I posted this twice.

We've got party of 5 (2 Adults, 2 Girls17 & 11, 1 Boy 13. Looking to stay on property. Would love 2 bedroom & 4 beds will settle for less but none of the kids want to sleep in the sam ebed & Mom & Dad want there own room. Breakers vs. Cabins vs. Cottages. Any input will be appreciated. We're first timers

Cabins and Cottages are probably booked solid, you can call for cancellations every day.....Breakers has suites with two beds in the bed room, and one couch bed (ouch wires wires wires) microwave, frig, coffee pot, balcony facing the beach. Very nice (except the wires). I believe it is HS2Q. You can get fri and sat together for 20% off. There are also single rooms in the old section for mom and dad. The cottages are awesome, bar-be-ques, decks, bedroom in the back w/ queen size bed & bunk beds, futon in living area (ouch) frig, microwave, nice kitchen....awesome. Hope this helps. Have fun!!!
Almost forgot, you can stay in the "old" Breaker's wings, and get HS3DT. I think this is the one on the ends with the towers, which are sitting rooms with a tv & frig, and a bedroom on one side with two double beds, and a room on the other side with one double bed. However, there are no elevators in the old wings, but they are only 3 stories tall, very nice .....

We're looking at 2003. So availability isn't real bad yet. It's the "Ouch" part that scares me. I want the bed the kids get the "Ouch" there lighter. Cottages are on the lake Cabins are inland. Does it make a difference? Can you swim and play in the lake in that area?
Last weekend my family and I stayed in one of the cottages at lighthouse point. One bedroom with a double bed, one bunkbed and a 2 person fold out futon in the living room. One of these cottages will easily hold 6 people. Our whole weekend package cost about $340. This included 4 tickets for friday night and 2 adult tickets for sat. or sun. Also if you stay at any resort you get to go into the park 1hr earlier than the public. We had a great time and the view from the cottage overlooking the bay was fantastic!
No, the lake is all breakwalls there. Also right on the shipping channel, it probably has a strong undercurrent. Freighters go right past! Great sunsets! I always book the cottages in November-December. The first year it was really tough calling everyday for cancellations. The cabins all face each other, and a small man made lake. I never tried those, we're hooked on the cottages!!! Heard they are adding 50 more this year they are so popular! I have a huge family reunion there next year I'll be working on this fall. Good luck with your trip!
We had a party of 23 (!) staying in a combo of the cottages & the HB this year, and have stayed in SandCastle Suites for the last two years and the HB before that. Based on that, I would say the cottages win hands down for cleanliness and family convenience. Can't beat the kitchenettes and for the amount of time you're in the rooms, they are the best. Only issue we had with the cottages this June was the amount of bugs all over the place, but that's life on the lake.

Breakers has some larger suites with 3 queen beds, as well as the standard suites. The 3 bed suite is code HNSFAM.

Florida may have Disneyworld and Key West,
but Ohio has Cedar Point and Put-In-Bay.
It's great to live in Ohio!
