So did I read correctly that CP plans to continue to renovate the resorts after Breakers? I mean Sandcatle was just renovated back in 2008 I believe and Breakers Express seems to be in good condition. Lighthouse also just got new cabins this year. Do the resorts need more love? I've never been to Castaway Bay, does that need renovation?
Castaway Bay got some renovations over this last winter, but I wouldn't be surprised if it gets more attention considering the indoor waterpark competition in the area.
There has been ongoing updates to the existing cabins this season in addition to the new cabins, keep in mind these properties command premium rates and don't get PP discounts and routinely sell out.
I could see Sandcastle getting some love, its pretty dated already and would be cheaper to revamp than the Breakers.
The amount of revenue the resort properties generate has to be substantial, and now they are adding new services and amenities for the resort guests. This will increase out of park revenue which is great for the park as a whole.

I've stayed at just about every resort CP has. The cabins are nice, especially the ones against the lake, they are expensive but worth it in my opinion. Any of the hotels are "Red Roof" amenities with Hyatt prices. I understand you are staying on the property and that is worth something, but please Matt do something that makes you feel like you aren't getting gouged.
I can definitely understand what you're saying coasterJay, however the location alone is enough to make me pay for a room at Breakers (granted we pay for the cheaper rooms unless we get a better deal out of it which has been done a few times before). What would you like to see at the resorts?
You're going to a resort destination, you should have resort-quality hotel rooms. I admittedly haven't stayed or been in a room on property in years, but I'm going to guess the rooms aren't very nice compared to a Hyatt or Hilton or other higher class hotel of the same nightly price.
Especially considering how little money compared to return it would take to make the rooms up to typical resort standards..
To me, the spot where Sandcastle sits is deserving of a much more spectacular building. Sandcastle just looks cheap to me. Who knows if it makes sense to build some sort of fancy high rise with night clubs, restaurants, balconies, etc for something that is only open 5 months out of the year. Maybe what they have there already is exactly the right call and anything more would just be a waste.
