Just got mine as well, saw the tweet this morning.
I'm going to open a post on meetups but who all is planning on going to opening. It might be interesting to meet at the park? So far it looks dead based on available reservations slots.
Got mine. Looks like based on the number of available admission spots depending on the day the park is allowing between 10K and 14K guests. That turns into a pretty good day with very short lines for those who choose to go.
Also factor in resort guests and keep in mind the number allotted could increase or decrease as they see fit.
I think its still a positive outlook, between those numbers and resort guests generally this season should have nicer lines even with social distancing and cleaning procedures. Considering the 9th is only open to pass-holders it should be possibly one of the nicest opening days ever.
I just reserved spots for my family for the 26th. I also will be there opening day, staying overnight on the 8th at CP Express Hotel. I'd be game for meeting up with some folks here for a beer sometime throughout the day.
^ the park is also open to resort guests on opening day, with a automatic reservation, you just have to have a pass.
Hadn't thought about resort guests with passes. Duh.
I opened a topic in meetups in regards to opening day meeting.
So there is early entry? I thought that was gone.
Or are reservations starting at 10:00 just to start processing people in the park?

I can't point to anything specific but from either CP or KI tweets it is essentially to process people in. If you have a 1000 arrive you should be through the gates at 1100 for open is the theory.
^^ the reservations start at 10am, but the park won't open until 11. So if you get through temperature check, security, and the front gate by say 10:15, what will we be able to do for the next 45 mins? I guess I would go get in the early line for Steel Vengeance. 🤷♂️
Pretty nice they're doing that; more or less what I figured.
So, an important update for those staying on Point:
We had talked before about whether or not you can visit the park the day of check-in. It turns out the answer is YES; however, if you choose to do that you are not necessarily guaranteed entry to the park the day you check out.
To put it simply, you are only guaranteed a reservation for the amount of nights you are staying.
For example, we are staying July 12 - 16th; we are guaranteed 4 days of entry to the park, and we can use that 12 - 15, or 13 - 16. Or we could do the 12th, 13th, have a rest day, and then go the 15th and 16th. That gets worked out at the front desk when you check in.
Glad I called.

I'm assuming reservations are not being taken for late August because regulations might change by then? Just trying to make sure we can get into park for our trip.
Kevinj: you say you're guaranteed reservations for every night you stay. Safe to assume that is for every guest in your room? Do you need to still set up a reservation if staying at Breakers?
Been visiting yearly with my now wife to celebrate our anniversary since 2010. Proposed on top of Valravn in '17 during the Sunrise Thrills Tour. Proud owner of two bricks in the Legacy Walk and have a piece of Wicked Twister
John, they are releasing reservations in batches.
To answer your question about your stay at Breakers. Like Kevin said for every night you have reserved you are guaranteed a day in the park, you can pick what days at check in. If you want to have the additional day (beyond the number of nights you've booked) you will need to make a reservation and are not guaranteed one.
Hope that helps!
Correct. And yes, the reservation is good for every person in your room that also either has a ticket or pass to the park.

Currently the reservation is only good for passholders and resort guests who are passholders, so every guest staying in your room(s) must have a pass until they open the reservation system for single day tickets. For example, let's say I booked a room for 3 people, but only 2 of us are passholders, the 3rd person will not be allowed into the park during this period.
The park is probably tired of me, I have asked every question I could think of. I have a buddy who just moved back to Michigan, and he hasn't visited CP since 2000, and I was trying to figure out when he was allowed to visit with us. I figured if he stayed at the hotel with us on the 8th and bought a ticket, he would be good for the 9th, but nope, which I completely understand.
Just got ours booked for the 11th! Sadly you can only book one day so I guess we're just going to stay around the hotel Friday. We come from Michigan and usually stay Friday and leave Sunday. Try and go to the park Friday afternoon and all day Saturday. Doesn't seem like that will be an option for us so we reserved Saturday. Any Sandusky Natives here know of what we could do Friday?

Go downtown to the waterfront. Lots of things to do there. If you want to drive about 25 mins, head to Port Clinton, Catawaba Island or Marblehead. Nice wineries and breweries over that way.
