I don't know if the group is even still together, but a night concert in front of TTD on a Sat. night sounds hot! I can't think of a better song to represent that ride. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3BmxjhmN20

Considering the band doesn't exist anymore, yeah, not gonna happen.
I saw them in a small club circa late 1995. I've never seen anyone have as much energy as that singer. And they did the "real" version of "Ready to Go," not that US-guitar-radio-crap version they use on Dragster.

^ Not true, not in the least. They had a decent amount of airplay and I'm sure that song is totally recognizable by more than just us.
"""IF""" Republica were still around, would they draw a bigger crowd than Pointfest at CP?

They are reforming, AND re-issuing a new version of "Ready To Go".

I've heard enough Republica in the vicinity of TTD, thank you.
The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.
^ Agreed! I was actually hoping they would get a new song for the ride in 2011. Something cool like I305's "Gentlemen, Start your engines!" or something like that. But one can only hope
It wasn't even their best song. I did see them though, circa 1998 or something.

Most people probably have no idea who Republica is, and wouldn't have any idea that is who sings the Top Thrill Dragster song. Heck I'd bet most people didn't realize there was even a song playing in the Dragster station.
Terrible idea. No one would just stand around watching a show like that, and after the 2-3 minutes they play "Ready to Go".. then what? The novelty wears off for coaster fans and everyone else remains uninterested.
Personally, I imagine a concern stage + standing/seating area as just clutter inside of CP. Too many people trying to move around the peninsula. It's already cramped.
