Report

Hey I need help fella's on how a rollercoaster actually works an the maintenance to it. This isnt a small report 10 page!

Greg

I'll bet he would have liked to have one of the maintenance manuals for Magnum (written by Arrow) that was sitting in the control booth for a while.  It had something like, "Maintenance Manual for Cedar Point Coaster" on the cover - no mention of the name Magnum.  Inside it spoke of an "Arrow mine ride #blah blah."  Heck, I wanted it myself for goodness sake! :)

Seriously though, there is a lot of maintenance involved with a coaster.  Nightly maintenance includes among other things checking trains (replacing bad wheels or anything else), inspecting brakes and track, and sometimes checking the lift chain link by link.  On an anual basis, all trains are stripped down to their parts, inspected, and bad parts are replaced before reassembly.

If you can find "The Incredible Scream Machine: A History of the Roller Coaster" by Robert Cartmell in your local library - that would be a good start.  It's more historical than mechanical, but there are some good sections regarding the physics of it all.

Excuse me, mr.ride dude could you tell me if Magnum is sinking. oh and while your at it why is the GW on the other side of the park???
I tryed that font hing when i did my report on the MF, and we were supposed to have 12 font, but i used 18.  I thought that we had to have 10 pages, so i was trying my best to make it longer.  Come to find out it was only suposed to be 4-5 pages.  But it was  funny, beacause when i go te rough draft back, in bold letters at the op her wrote, "font 12".  Sry. Just wanted to tell that stoy since we were kinda on the subject.
