Renegade takes over Valleyfair

I just saw on VF's website the announcement for their new rollercoaster. It is a GCII woodie.

Just thought people might like to know.

I know Jugga, God forbid anybody post something not directly CP related. I just thought since VF is a sister park to CP people might want to know. Besides not all of us waste our time on coasterbuzz.com. :)

I find it odd how there is a Geauga Lake forum but there is no Kings Island forum and topics about Valleyfair! (one of the two original parks in the Cedar Fair chain) is shunned upon.

Geauga Lake is included because of its proximity to Cedar Point. Its only an hour east. Many people here live within the direct marketing area for both parks.

Valleyfair isn't shunned. The discussion is just more pertinent on Coasterbuzz.

Uh, why does everyone say GCII? isn't it just GCI? I'm lost...somebody clue me in.

Its Great Coasters International, Inc. So either acronym will work.

They should be getting a TGG, for real.

I'd perfer a TGS.

Why not RCCA? They've made some smooth reliable rides.

Well, this is a Cedar Point fan site, no? Not that there are never non-CP discussions, but John is right - this is better placed at CoasterBuzz.

How about we all welcome a new wooden coaster into a CF park? If it works at VF, it may work at CP. They've done it in the past with other coasters.

I actually think this discussion is very appropriate for this forum (I almost started this thread myself, but didn't want to take the heat. ;) )

As far as I know, this is the first time Cedar Fair has commissioned one of the newfangled woodies (CGI, Gravity Group, etc.) And we all know that CF uses its other parks as guinea pigs for new types of rides and/or designers. Hence, if CF is satisfied with the performance they get out of Renegade, it's not improbable to speculate that the Point might be getting one, one of these days. And that, my friends, is very fitting for this forum. So, neener-neener.
