Not to mention that Viacom also owns Harmonix, aka Guitar Hero. There's no small amount of money involved in that franchise either.

Hope this isn't true. We went to Kings Island this year JUST for Dora and Spongebob. The park was a bonus. We ended up loving Kings Island, but I don't know if we would have picked it if it weren't for the characters.
Whoops, I was backward on that. Yes, it is Rockband that is developed by Harmonix, not GH.
Still a very lucrative series.

Kings Island just started a breakfast with the characters. Isn't that the opposite direction of taking them out? You think they wouldn't start this halfway through the season if there were any solid plans for changes next year at least.
I would rather hug Snoopy over Sponge Bob anyday... But my little cousins would have to disagree.
I think it would be a bad idea to remove Nickelodeon characters, and replace them with Peanuts. Although Peanuts is appreciated by the older generation, it isn't that popular with younger kids.

^^^^ Actually, Harmonix developed GH. They sold it to Activision so that they could develop Rock Band. Activision took over starting with GHIII. Harmonix the original developers of the game created GHI, GHII, and GH: Rocks the 80's. Harmonix is now working on RB2 and Activision is working on GH: World Tour (which will be a RB copy, ie: drums, mic, guitar and bass) Both set to release this fall. :)

I think we have a gamer on our hands. :) My boyfriend is a gamer too. I thought that Harmonix developed Guitar Hero. But I didn't want to argue with something I wasn't 100% sure about.

I honestly have no idea what will happen next year, but i do think that kings island has been testing the waters recently with the old hannah barbera characters... the past 2 major events they have brought out the old hannah barbera suits and had kids taking pictures with them... they put it under the old "nostalgia" idea, buti think it was to see of kids still identify with them, and in many respects they still do. If they were to switch, i doubt kings island would go snoopy, simply because kings island has a very well known kids area that wins that golden ticket award every year, and they would not try and mess with it without seriously taking into consideration the consequences thereof. anyone that spends any amount of time in nick universe/ hannah barbera land knows what i am talking about, it is one heck of a kids area...
That's just what I was thinking. It wasn't all that long ago that the H-B theming was replaced with Nick. I wonder how much of that stuff was kept around?
