Reminisce with Me...

In thinking back to my old High School days, 7 years ago, endlessly surfing around GTTP trying to find MF construction info, I decided to use the ol' Internet Wayback machine to see how good the cache of the site was. The earliest date available is March 3, 2000, and the site is still in remarkably good shape, pictures and all. You can even get to the Guide To The Point T-Shirt order form, and the CP Place as it existed back then. It takes me back to the days when I would drool over a 56k stream of an MF site drive-by from Jeff.

Any chance of still getting a GTTP shirt Jeff? ;)

Guide to the Point! - Circa 2000

Virtual Midway is still out there as well, just not as many images available as GTTP.

For those of you who have only been around for the PointBuzz days, it's worth a look to see where all of this came from. It's also fun to go back and read some of the first posts on this forum.

Wow, that's certainly interesting to go through the old posts on CP Place. I can remember spending many hours sitting there reading through posts on the old form layout.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

I remember the Millennium Force announcement in July 1999, and that's when I discovered Guide to the Point. I can't believe that it's been almost 8 years since I discovered how great Cedar Point (and roller coasters in general) is/are.

Wow. I feel old!

Wow, that was when I was actually working at the Point...when I first started being "employed" ha ha.

Amazing to think how much has changed since then.

I found guide to the point only a few months before that site and virtual midway combined to point buzz back in the spring of 2003. I found the site when i was trying to find stuff about ttd.

Wow. That's pretty cool to look back in (even though it holds no memories for me)

In the recent news it has Magnum's chain breaking. I was at the park when that happened, but I was only 7 years old. :)

Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~
