Remember when?

Oh man, the Rotor. Are there any of those types of rides left ou there?

Another fond memory of CP from bygone days: Every year my dad used to try to win us an animal with the "shoot out the red star" game, the one played with a high-powered BB rifle. Every year he failed. But he never gave up. It was our family's running joke for years and years.

I still remember being about 3 with my mom on the tilt a whirl. I threw up for a while. Then the Rotor. That was the first scary ride ever for me. When that floor dropped it scarred the *hit out of me!!!! I always wondered at age 5 how they made you stick to the wall. Then the funhouse...don't get me started on that one! We would get done at the Rotor and head over to the fun house. The slide was so scarry. Kind of like A Christmas Story when the kids are screaming on the way down the slide after visiting Santa. I was one of those kids screaming all the way down!

Ahh, the Shoot the Rapids (now White Water Landing). It was so much fun to think you were racing. I always got scared on that because there was a second pop from your seat and I always thought I would get thrown from the boat.

How about Bayern Curve? Probably my first "coaster" type ride. The horn was the coolest part of the ride! It was so loud to me as a kid. I would have to cool off on the Shwabanchen afterward which was right next to it.

Old times...and definately OLD rides!

I've seen some at traveling carnivals, or local fairs.

I remember the double ferris wheel when it was in front of Centennial Theatre. I only rode it once, it was at night, and I was scared to death the entire time.

I remember when I was sitting at this big desk in a round room and this young lady was at my feet...oh wait a minute, that isn't MY memory.

Really, I think what we are all getting at is that me miss a little of that charm that used to be pervasive at the Point. I can tell you that, even with the success the park has seen, many of the full-time employees miss that charm too.
