Remember Tiki Twirl?

I think this was a lot similar to the Calypso. It used to stand where the Matterhorn is now. And it seemed to blend well will the nearby Jungle Larry's Safari. For some reason I always like tiki twirl better than Calypso.
You know I saw it on a park map in a private collection. I wanted to know what it was so I went to Town Hall...........and well......nevermind.

Yes, it was very similar to the Calypso, but with a slightly tropical look to the ride, and tacky polynesian music playing from the speakers.

I loved Tiki Twirl as a kid. It was similar to Calypso so I can see why they removed it, but I still miss it.

It was exactly the same as Calypso. I think it was the original Calypso and it was rethemed in house. That's just a guess. But CP had only Calypso, then only Tiki Twirl, then both Calypso and Tiki Twirl and finally only Calypso.

Florida may have Disneyworld and Key West,
but Ohio has Cedar Point and Put-In-Bay.
It's great to live in Ohio!

Yes and as employees the summer of '80 a bunch of us would wear hawain shirts, drink beer, put leighs around our knecks and ride it the last ride of the nite, shut it down if you will.

By the way it was an awful ride and thank christ almighty it is probably part of somebodys transmission or soup can now.
