Remember Captain Penny?

He was a TV personality in Cleveland that hosted a children's show. He died about 30 years ago. He frequently had Jungle Larry on his show and also he did many shows at the park and rode some rides like the cars and the Space Spiral. I believe this publicity helped a lot in Cedar Point's recovery years.

Remember Captain Peny...Hell yes, I even remember Pooch Parade along with Jungle Larry...I am SURE some of this will be discussed during a discussion about the "history of CP"...If you remember C Penny you must have Cleveland roots...Do you also remember Franz the Toymaker?...He also visted CP I remember him riding the Rotor!

And what about Mr. Jingle Ling (sp). I still hum his theme song...Showing my age again.

I remember Jingles, but not Jingle Ling. Soupy Sales was the big name in the Detroit Area.

I also grew up with Captain Penny and Franz the Toymaker. Also, do you guys remember Barnaby? I think he was a local Cleveland personality also. Mr. Jingaling was one of the most beloved area personalities during Christmas time. He had a TV show during the holiday season and could be visited in person on the 7th floor of the Halles dept. store.
