To answer Noggins question, I figured it would be easier to ask the dedicated people here rather than wait a day from Cedar Point. Plus now if somebody has a question, this topic will be updated.
Agreed. I asked CP questions before my email and they NEVER respond. by phone, they NEVER know what I am talking about and put me on hold for 30 mins. It's easier to post on here.
As for general admission, $67?? wow that's high. If that's the front gate price, was that the price last year? if anyone remembers?
I think it was $65 last year, and $63 the year before that, an increase of $2 per year

Who would ever pay full price to get in the park? There are plenty of ticket promotions and deals out there. Just spend a few minutes to look and you can same some money on admission.

It boggles my mind the amount of people I see standing in line on any given day buying tickets at the gate. At the very least pull into Meijer as you drive by and save yourself at least $10 a ticket. It might even be more, I am not sure of their price. Or how about the people who show up, on days the park is closed.... I would love to be the employee working the toll booth on the day after Labor Day.... "Sorry folks, parks closed, the moose out front should have told ya."

I used to work at the front ticket booth. There were a lot of coupons from Subway Cups, the newspaper, their employments, platinum pass discounts, etc. However, there were still plenty of people who paid full price for the ticket. When I worked there the starlight ticket let you in at 4 or 5 pm (depending on what time CP closes). One thing I never understood is those at 3:45, not wanting to wait 15 minutes to get a cheaper ticket.
Following in the steps of Disney last week, Universal announced price increases of $5-10 per day.
It is logical that the CF chain may follow and we could see an increase in the gate price before the season begins.
As always, its wise to check with the park to see what prices actually are before you make your plans if you are price sensitive.

Okay, I get that. (Generally, in such situations, I figure out how the company's email addresses are configured and start contacting management and executives. Not easier, no, but usually gratifying :-) )
But still -- what if the price on Tuesday in May isn't the same price as on Friday in June?
When I was still working for Ticketmaster (don't hate me) they were introducing dynamic pricing for client venues: they could alter pricing up or down week by week, day by day, hour by hour with a few clicks on the computer. I expect the technology has evolved since then. I'd expect Cedar Fair has some sort of dynamic pricing.
I'm a Marxist, of the Groucho sort.
The do indeed have dynamic pricing, mainly it's on Parking, Hotel Rooms, and Fast-lane in its most obvious and recognizable form.
But it has also been applied in a form to Souvenier cups, all season pics and dining as demand goes up price does too, but not so much on a variable pricing scale.
Disney and Universal have also added dynamic pricing to gate admissions.
There's also a very nice video on YouTube of a nice lady that works in the general information call center at the park and shows all the effort and large book they go through and have to provide answers to park guests. They really do go out of their way to provide answers to guests.

My local Meijer now has tickets on sale:
Compare that to 2016 ticket prices:
The two day/ two park + drink ticket has dropped almost $12 and the two day ticket has dropped $10. Everything else has increased slightly. (note: That two day ticket in my 2016 pic on the right was probably in the wrong slot). Still, you can save a lot of money buying at Meijer versus the gate price of $67 for single day admission.
The ride and refresh has also dropped $2

It appears the gate admission price has increased to $69 from $67 earlier in the season based on data from their website.
CP has bumped their prices to coincide with big announcements and/or HalloWeekends the past several years.
ROUNDABOUND.
Dynamic pricing, Just like the prices for hotel rooms, fastlane, flights.... etc.
