Red Cross First Rider Event

Hi everyone,

As most of you know, sometimes the first rides on Cedar Point's new attractions are auctioned off for charity. I remember my buddy brought me along for the Maverick Red Cross First Rider event.
Was there such an event for Windseeker?

There was such an event, but it was cancelled due to the delay in the ride's opening.

I believe Raptor was actually the first real auction under these auspices, but someone can correct me. A friend of mine and I were the first non-event riders on opening day. We got front row immediately following what I believe was the third "PR" train out. I recall Dick Kinzel and a bunch of other CP dignitaries along with maybe two trains of auction winners.

THAT was a grand opening worth waiting for. I knew immediately they had a hit on their hands.
