Hey everyone,
How awesome was yesterday! :) My question is for those of you who have successfully bid before. Did you also get three rides in the past? That was great.
I thought that we got three rides yesterday because all of the ride's elements weren't quite in place yet; the first time we rode, the pictures weren't taken, & the second time we rode, the water effects weren't running. I wasn't quite positive, though.
Anyone know for sure? Thanks in advance
My understanding from a friend who was with me yesterday and has successfully bid on every one of these auctions is that they have never run the ride more than once for the winning bidders. He said normally there is tons of media at these events and that after the Red Cross riders ride they open the ride up to the various VIPs in attendance.
Yesterday there was nobody there except for CP management, the crew running the ride and the Red Cross riders. I think they ran the trains three times as they had ample time to do so before the massive JCC and resort crowd came barreling towards Maverick. I don't think it had anything at all to do with ride elements (pictures and the water effects) not being in place.
Interestingly, Dick Kinzel said that when he rode Maverick on Friday the steam in the tunnel wasn't on.

I was told they started us early to try and get us on before the rain, then we were done with tons of time to spare. The execs all decided to just keep sending us. And if it wern't for the E-Stop, we might have gotten 4 rides.
Because of the e-stop in the tunnel, my train e-stopped on the lift. Woo Hoo, first Maverick lift hill Roll Back! I still hav't gotten one on TTD. BTW, the roll back is pretty slow.
IMO This is a great ride and I think it will be as popular as Raptor. Without the occasional e-stops, I think they were dispatching trains very well.
I got 3 rides in the right rear seat for the Auction ride and then was the last person back in line before the Joe Cool and Resort guests showed up. I was somewhere around 113 for my shirt voucher. What was unexpected was that in addition to the Fleece jackets, the RC riders also recieved one of the T-Shirts. So I ended up giving one to my cousin for a Graduation present. My 4th ride was front seat. So, even though these are short trains, there is still quite a bit of differnce from front to back. I love both front and back, but I think I'll be riding back more often.
I'm not home right now, but when I do get home, I'll post my pictures as well.
