Records to be broken

Millennium Force broke 10 world records, can/will #16 break the same number of records?

Offhand, I can think of about 5 separate records that CP can market: Tallest coaster, fastest coaster, longest drop, most coasters at one park, most steel coasters at one park, and probably most coaster track at one park.

Can you think of any others?

Perhaps the most 90 degree vertical track on a coaster, although I doubt they'd get that specific.

I really hope they get the record for rate of acceleration, but Dodonpa at 0-106mph in 1.8 seconds may be tough to beat. They will also get the record for heighest complete circuit coaster and longest drop on a complete circuit. I wonder if this is the first coaster that twists away from the drop. Going down from the tophat you will be going to the left, but you twist right. They should also get park records for most coasters over 200' (4) and 300' (2).

I was at the gym tonight and on the radio they said something about CP getting a new coaster. I was told that it would be 500 feet tall and go 150 mph. Ahh, stupid GP, oh well.

Actually, I think that it will have the record for the tallest, fastest, steepest (a tie with HXLC and Dodonpa, but sitll a record), most coasters, most track at a park, most 200', most 300', and the first full circuit coaster to go over 400'. That would be 8, and there could be more. But all that matters is that it will be one hell of a ride!

I like a diveing drop instead of verticle barrel roll.

The top 8 are impressive, but using the same tricks you could probably get it up to 14 very easily. Maybe even 15 if you also included "Most records repeated in a list of claimed records". ;)

Sounds like a 85 degree drop just riding it on the underside of the track so I doubt that coaster will be steepest.

They can milk this ride for as many records as they want. It's not that hard to think up "most" or "first" records for any ride, no matter how record-breaking it is. "First ride to turn right while banking 50 degrees 70 feet in the air" etc.

If CP gets the record for the most coasters, it will be short lived again. Seeing how SFMM is also building #16 this year.
