The Red Garter show has a live band.
That's really good news, and surprising. I will indeed have to check it out later this year.
As for Kevinj's opinion of "no live bands/not worth seeing any shows", that's your opinion and I seriously hope you stick by it because I'm pretty sure you won't be missed, or will even be noticed that you never showed up.
You're correct on all points. Personally, I think the best show at the park is the ice-skating Snoopy show. I have no idea how old you are, but comparing the live E at Cedar Point to the level it was at 20 years ago is ludicrous...in my opinion It has deteriorated badly, akin to Disaster Transport. However, I no longer have an expectation of high quality in this regard when I visit Cedar Point.
My crack about the missing live bands has some truth to it, and this is also not exclusive to Cedar Point. It's much cheaper to pump music in rather than pay for real musicians. It's also lower quality live E...in my opinion. It's like comparing an Aerosmith concert to seeing Milli Vanilli. Both entertainment, two different audiences.
Incidenetally, I am not at all arguing that the actual talent of the individuals in the shows is less, it's the direction and production that are horrible.
Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman are wonderful actors, but "Attack of the Clones" did not exactly bring that out in them, did it? So if you think I am criticizing the talent, that is incorrect. It's the production.
Promoter of fog.
