Once upon a time, when Ponderosa and the like was still prevalent in the Toledo area...my friends & I would always make it a point to stop for a large breakfast before we headed off to the park.
Since many of these dining options have been replaced, does anyone have any reasonably priced all you can eat breakfast buffets that you can recommend between Toledo and Sandusky??
I was thinking "Perkins" perhaps...but maybe something BEFORE we arrive in town. Thoughts, etc.?
Ryan's. Not sure if they have breakfast, but if you're looking for lunch or dinner, it's the best value in Sandusky, hands down. It's right off of 250 across from the Harley Davidson shop.
2005/2006: Cedar Point - Millennium Force
2007/2008/2009: Walt Disney World - Magic Kingdom - Tomorrowland Speedway
2008: Hard Rock Park - Maximum RPM! Opening Supervisor

Ryan's has a breakfast buffet. And it is a lot better then the lunch and dinner buffet. Cheaper too I think.
Uncle John's Pancake House. They have everyone kind of food very cheap. 3 HUGE pancakes, any kind, for $2.50.
Favorite Coasters 1.MF 2. TTD 3. Raptor 4. Gemini 5. Magnum
Maverick perhaps? I wanna RIDE ON.
I can't think of any buffets in toledo near the expressways but there is a Denny's just off I-75 exit 197 (1 mile north of the turnpike). There is also a Cracker Barrel just off I-75 exit 193 (about 3 miles south of the turnpike)

Forgot about Uncle John's...and it's only about 2 miles from my house. Good idea, SFSKnights! (Go Class of '89!! My brother's class).
And I know the Denny's well. I grew up a block or so away from there in Rossford on Lime City Road. Unfortunately, my friends & I always get "Denny's Revenge" which is not appropros for an hour road trip. :)
Thanks for the tips!
SFS? Geesh, there is a blast from the past! Class of........well lets just say a long time ago here!
Go Father O!
I love going to Ryans. Most days I will leave the park at 2 and eat till I can't move then come back.
There is a place called Tommy's on Woodville Road, SR 51. Its pretty awesome, probably out of your way being most people do not take SR 579 either.

Ohhh I most definitely "DO" take SR 579 to 163 to 2...it's the most scenic and beautiful route to take from Toledo to Sandusky...especially in mid Spring!! I highly recommend it to anyone who has the extra time. It's best when you are doing Starlite Hours..give yourself an extra half hour/45 minutes or so and leave around 3'ish. You definitely won't regret it.
Born and raised in Toledo, but WHERE on Woodville Rd. is Tommy's?? Do you mean Tom's Diner that used to be the Original Pancake House years ago? If so,..I've had some awesome meals there and I've had some horrible meals there. Personally, I think it's hit or miss. If they still have the chocolate chip pancakes then "mmmmmmmm"!!!!
