Real ride names

I've never been go Geauga Lake before and I wasn't familiar with the former ride names, so I pulled up the Six Flags WOA site and compared the pictures to the Geauga Lake site. I can't figure out what the new name of the old Batman coaster is. Is it even on the new site?...or is Cedar Fair not going to be running it in the near future?

Don't go by the pictures on Six Flags' site -- they use generic pictures. The Batman at Geauga Lake is the floorless, Dominator, not an inverted as pictured on the Six Flags site.

Not only is CF guilty of recycling names, but also logos and grahpics as well: http://www.worldsoffun.org/pictures/detonatorlogo.gif

Is it me, or is the photo of Thunderhawk reversed? I doubt it being a picture of another SLC, since this is CF's first.

I'm glad to see the Serial Thriller name gone. I know it was supposed to be a play on words, but the subject made the name questionable for use in a family park in my opinion. Thunderhawk is a much better name for the ride.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Rob, the reason I said relatively little work to do is because relative to what they had to do with Geauga Lake, I'm sure there was substantially less work to do in that office. I didn't mean to come off sounding like the marketing department just sits around all day with nothing to do.
Beaver Land Mine Ride?!?! HAWHAT!!! That ride is going to be the butt of so many jokes this year it's gonna be unbelieveable. And Dominator? No thatnk you, I really don't like that name too much. And Cedar Fair now recycling names? Sigh, I'm not for that either

If you hate the names so bad, don't ride the rides! I think a few of the rides could have used better names, but wow, they're only names. A couple of them still give good experiences.

I think the new names are OK but am kind of disappointed they didn't come up with more original names. I like Head Spin for the Boomerang. Mind Eraser was never really that great of name anyway. same for Serial Thriller.

Beaver Land Mine Ride- NO COMMENT. I think that is the safest thing to say.

I am surprised that Shipwreck Falls did not get renamed. I think that name is used at other SF parks. I am surprided they didn't rename X-Flight but that neame is OK.

Let the dominatrix jokes begin......

"Hire me Kinsel, I'll solve all your new problems"

Oh gosh, that was about the first thing I thought of when I heard it too.
Hurricane Hannah does seem lame but they might change it in a couple of years. I see the park this season as a transition state for what CF wants to do with it. So the "Hurricane" name might keep it familiar enough for the peeps and still close enough to the original name to get business from the Travel Channel show viewers. Since the new waterslides were featured. This is just a guess, because ultimately it could just be a bad name decision. But they do have an excuse to change it in a couple of years!:)

On a second note, I'm glad they brought back Turtle Beach. Some of those names are actually clever such as Snapper run, and Tortoise tube. Playing off the turtle theme. However Rad Reef I'm not so sure of! :)

"Rad Reef"? I really don't want to criticize other people's attempts at creativity, but that reminds me of those Ovaltine commercials (or any other commercial where the scriptwriters failed miserably in understanding what sort of slang words are still in popular use...)

Bodacious, dude!

Haha Gemini. I love that you used that as a joke!!!

It still rears it's head at college campuses. I love it!!

I often hear, "Kindergarten called. . .they need their behavior back," (not directed at me, of course.) ;)

What about I-75 exit #69 in Michigan?? Big Beaver Road.....Sometimes I wonder who comes up with these ideas....

Yeah, they PLANNED for that to happen. Milemarkers and coincidence had NOTHING to do with it.
