Real Cedar Point BUFFS!!

Just wanted to take a second here to say that I am so amazed in how much pride some of us take in Cedar Point. One thing that really stands out is that most if not all of us on here know who started cedar point and who the president of CP is. I mean I dont think many people take time to learn about any other park in depth like we do and I just thout is was cool that we hold this place so close to our hearts. Ok I'm done being lame but it was just fascinating to me.

I want to ride a rollercaster NAKED!!

*Pats self on back*, but still knows this is breaking one of the rules.

The reason most people don't know as much as you think you know is because they have lives other than CP.

Regular people grow up some time in there life and get interested in other things.

It doesnt matter if you grow up or not. When you get older it just means you have more ways to learn about what you love. cough cedar point cough. ive spent way more time studying cp and following than i should and even if people do think im oc or a dweeb. I DONT CARE!

only 997 laps left on MF..

So i resurrect dead post... is that a bad thing?

Why is it so important to know who started Cedar Point? Or who the current president is? It only means something to the geeks. I have read the history on their web site, but I didn't bother to memorize it. I have much better things to do with my time.

Apostrophes are used to denote contracted words (i.e. can't, I've, I'm).

Goodbye MrScott

Well, if you like to go to Cedar Point and you like rollercoasters a lot, chances are, you will just eventually know all this stuff like who the president is and how tall or how fast all the rollercoasters are. You don't purposely try to memorize it all. For me, all it takes is to hear the information once and it sticks with me. By the way Coasterfury, apparently you must care enough about Cedar Point to make an account on it's unofficial website and post things here. So I would venture to say that you may be a bit of a Cedar Point geek yourself.

Some people know a lot about cars, we however, know a lot about Cedar Point. It just depends on one's preference.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

True, but knowing a lot about cars is something you can use, (ie. fix a car). Knowing a lot about CP is just useless information taking up space in your brain that could possibly save mankind one day! Now a cure for AIDS or cancer will have to wait. :-(

It means a lot to people that have thousands of dollars invested in the company.

It's more fun to have knowledge about Cedar Point than it is to constantly think about reality (see: working in a cubicle). Plus, it's not like CP knowledge is completely useless. I'm sure most of the people here don't need park maps anymore, for example. ;)

Whats really amazing is that some of you put other people down because they have a hobby or interest in something. I love Cedar Point and im a big person on history. Do you really think that knowing when George Washington died really matters that much to other people. No. But some people do care and think it matters. BTW when you tell someone they need to get a life about a hobby or an interest you dont make sense. Why, because its pretty clear they do have a life if they are interested in something. Some of you need to find a new hobby that dosen't involve putting other people down.

No... when it's all you do, night and day, that's a problem. Having a one-dimensional life is not healthy.

Here, here!

I wasn't implying that I am not a CP geek. What I am implying is that I'm not that hard core. Really, I don't care who the president is. As long as I have a good time going there, what else matters? I can find out about the tallest and fastest from Coasterbuzz. I don't necessarily have to come to a CP specific site to get that info.

Mean people suck :(

^Oh man, a t-shirt/keychain quote from 1994 I love it!

In all seriousness, I go have fun. Sure I know stuff about the park, but who doesn't like a little history. I do have a life aside from hanging out around CP and I have seriously switched up my activities at the park since a few years back.

I think that all happened when I turned 21 in 2001 ;-)

I'll admit I'm a rollercoaster junkie. I like Cedar Point just as much as any of you in here do even though you people go to the park way more than I ever will. But will I ever study up on the owners and operaters of the park...NO WAY!!! For example going to watch Star Wars movies is cool(I think there great movies), but when you start to study the production team your definitly a nerd.

Or when you dress up like the characters and battle with lightsabers in the parking lot of the theater on opening day.

Anyway, I would agree with Jeff on this matter. People should have hobbies.....just more than one. Be a big Cedar Point fan, just do other stuff too.

There are many hobbies out there, so go and find them!!!:)
