Re: Show? - CP airs on 12/20

Since I was unable to find any information on the Discovery Channel airing (as suggested in the thread Show?), I figured I may as well post this....

The Sandusky Register said last week that the special "Thrill Parks" would air on the Discovery Channel on December 20th. It will feature just about everything at Cedar Point. Look for me when it visits the Reservations office of Hotel Breakers. :) I'm the one who'll you'll see answer a phone call (if they didn't cut that out!).

Actually, this show you are talking about will not be on the Discovery Channel, rather it will be on the Travel Channel on the night you specified.

I posted a complete schedule of coaster-related shows over the next couple weeks, over at CoasterBuzz.

Go to www.discovery.com for a complete schedule for the Discovery Channel and all of their affiliates (including the Travel Channel).

Feel the Force!
I get the travel channel, but they only have it on until about 5 pm then they change it to court tv.I really like the travel channel,I just wish the cable company would leave it on 24/7.unfortunatly I will not be able to see this show.is it going to be on the discovery channel anytime?
Thanks for clearing that up. Unfortunately, the cable lineup in Sandusky does not include the Travel Channel. Guess I'll have to wait until its on the Discovery Channel!

There's a show on tonight dedicated to a few different amusement parks, (not specified) and I'm sure CP will be one of these.

Trim brakes-a necessity???
I couldn't make my own topic, so I'll just post the results here:

On last night's show "World's Best Thrill Parks," CP is #2.

Here's how it all turned out:

10)Tibili (sp?) Gardens
9)Coney Island
8)Nagashima Spaland
7)Six Flags Magic Mountain (knew we'd beat em!)
6)Kennywood (even Lynch can be happy!)
5)Parc' Asterix
4)Blackpool Pleasure Beach
3)Busch Gardens Williamsburg
2)Cedar Point
1)Universal Studios with Islands of Adventure

Why do you guys think Universal got #1. Personally, I have no idea what they see in that park, but that's just me.

I really think CP got the shaft on last night's best thrill parks show. They could of spent more time on MF and the resort-like atmosphere. Even the people they were interviewing during CP's segment were at other parks (Universal) and talking about thrill rides in general. They also could have talked about CP's history like they did with Kennywood and Tivoli Gardens.

:) "Did you know this goes up-side down" :)
Universal got #1, because of IOA probly. I don't know what it's like at Ceaar Point as much as you guy's, because I'v never been there, but I have been to IOA. It's pretty cool. Spiderman probly helped alot. Hulk is cool too. IOA's my favorite park, but that probly will change once I go to CP.
How did Coney island get on there?I have heard nothing good about this park, except for the cyclone rollercoaster.i could be wrong about the park because I've never been there, but it just seems that there are so many other parks that should of made it on this list.
Coney Island probably got on there because of their historical standpoint.

I really think CP got shafted as well. Their presentation was terrible. Not only did they just show a glimpse of MF and say one sentence about it (unlike SD2K, which was basically the whole topic of Nagashima), but they had other problems as well. They didn't say anything about the lusterous history that CP has had unlike the other parks. They also didn't say anything about the resorts, camping, etc. And the whole thing was just a collection of short clips from the coasters. CP deserves better.

They did not spend so much time on Cedar Point probably because there haveing a whole enire show on it in may. They want to save the best of the point for its own spotlight. Also, maybe because weather-related problems might have dampened the crew filming, and maybe they did not want a cloudy shot.
