RCT3 Demo!

There it is, just a big teaser til the real deal comes out, but I'm gonna be at the store the morning it comes out now!

Ride Op '02-'07

Heck yeah!!! This game will make the off season go by quickly! Lets see who can make the best CP recreation with this game!

Well off to wait in line on fileplanet to get it!!!!!!

I have 94% downloaded, I can't wait for this game!!!
A good thing about the old game was its ability to run on somewhat weaker systems, like laptops, without a need for higher end graphic cards, etc. Hopefully the new version will be able to be played on good high end machines, not just the super gaming systems that are out there now.
Once I heard the stuff you could do in this game, I went berserk. I loved the old game, the first RCT. I thought that the freedom you had to do what you willed was great. I heard the second one was even better, but now the third one, whew! POV's on the rides you make, and all new types of stuff to make, and most of all, more life-like looking people, sounds like a hoot.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

I was about to say, "If this one doesn't have POVs of your rides than forget it." Needless to say, I was disappointed with the RCT2 expansion pack that just added all these worthless animal coasters to the list like they were new. Common...
I tried downloading it from 3 different sites, and I can't get it to work. I click on the icon once DL is complete, then I get a gray boz that says "application failed" and I have 3 options in that box: abort, retry, and ignore. I have clicked on them all to no avail, and still no luck. Can anyone please help? Thanks!

Let's go straight to the Merry-Go-Round!

I've been looking forward to POV of the merry-go-round...if they don't have that then I'm not going to buy it :D

This should be a good game. Not sure if I'll bother with the demo though, I hate having to "wait in line" just to be able to start the download.

Goodbye MrScott

John

I think this game is really bad. The demo was not good at all. Just moving around in the 3-D environment is a pain, plus building a ride is 100 times harder in this game than in the last one. The on-ride view is terrible because the tracks are very bumpy. This game looks like a cartoon compared to No Limits Rollercoaster Simulation. Although No Limits doesn't have the people and money aspects it is graphically superior, there is no comparison between these two games. I will not be buying RCT3. I was very disappointed with the demo. If you want a good coaster simulator go to this link, you will not be disappointed. http://www.nolimitscoaster.com/

278 coasters and still counting!

Please... John Q. Gamer doesn't have the patience or interest in messing around with NoLimits. It's a different audience. It's not even a "game," and the UI absolutely sucks.

You can set the game to operate in a typical isometric mode, just like the old game. The camera control is fine, and not different from virtually any other 3D game.

Demo worked OK for me. Performance in CoasterCam mode isn't outstanding, but keep in mind that the demo is likely a snapshot of the game's code base weeks ago.

This is the messege that I am getting after DL..

*** Assertion failure *** : C:\Coding\FGDK3\Code\Windows\GE_Surface.cpp(264) : Invalid call

What does this mean and how can I fix it to be able to check out the demo? My computer is only 2 months old, XP, 3000+Athlon, 160GB, 512 RAM, 16x max speed, 64 MB shared video memory.

My system exceeds all of the requirements, but yet I still can't get it to work. :(

That's true Jeff, its very hard to make a decision based on a demo as the demo (unless released on a demo disk after release) is generally a very rough cut and meant to sate the appetite of the rabid fans until release date.
I've looked at NL, and its just a coaster sim, I like RCT due to the fact that its a PARK sim with many different facets not just building and riding really cool coasters.
I'm looking forward to this game being released as I always thought the FPR was one of the things seriously missing from past versions.
What would make it cools is that if you have extreme G changes, like the bottom of a 500' hill with too steep of a pull out, that the screen will actually start to fade black. There was a fighter/flight sim a few years ago that actually did that with red and black outs, it was pretty cool. I'd take my fighter and with full afterburner, turn it into a vertical loop, my screen would go almost black until I turned the top and was able to level off and roll over.

Goodbye MrScott

Did anyone see on the coaster buliding menu were you pick which style you can bulid, there is a strata coaster with the preview picture showed the front of Top Thrill Dragster. But with different colors. The demo takes some figering out but it is really neat. And I don't have any idea way there is a time limit on playing. You don't have anytime to really enjoy the demo. *** Edited 9/29/2004 10:31:55 PM UTC by daniel smith***
