Does anyone know where to find a Cedar Point RCT3 recreation? I have searched everywhere but i can't seem to find one.

The issue with CP recreations is, CP a larger park than the RCT3 sandbox parks have room for. I don't think there are many CP recreations out there, if any. You can find ride recreations from CP, but that's about it (there are also some small sectional recreations out there, but not many).

Nobody has done one.

I've often thought about trying to re-create CP, but there's plenty of obstacles in the way. First, there's space. To make accurate recreations of rides, it would be hard to fit them into even the largest land space available. Second, not all the rides at CP are available on RCT. There's nothing even close to Skyhawk or the Giant Wheel. Third, the scenery and parts of rides would require so much time and work to make custom content. Some examples are attaching all four towers of Power Tower, TTD's station, etc. etc. I'd love to see some recreations also, if even parts of the park or individual rides, but accuracy would be difficult. I just enjoy the game making up my own parks and coasters. Of course, there's many CP inspired areas of my best parks.

There are Cedar Point parks in RollerCoasterTycoon 1 and 2 though, but it's hard to find them since I had 'em a long time ago back when yahoo searches for video games returned fansites on geocities, not reviews from the big gaming corporations (like they do now). Unfortunately, my copies of those files have been lost to time. Tho I'm sure they're out there somewhere.

Go to youtube and you'll find many other examples of roller coasters from CP.

That guy is amazing.

If you are going to recreate cedar point PM me because I can make some custom scenery for you, and also I have a rad Maverick recreation, it just needs some scenery work.

I've never played RCT3, but that video looked pretty sub par. Where is Millennium Force??? Why are there sooooo many airtime hills on Magnum before the turnaround? When did they paint Iron Dragon green??

This one is by far better than anything I would have the patience to do. Despite the criticism on the boards at atari, it really is quite accurate. Anybody who disagrees with that has probably not tried to do an accurate recreation or a ride, especially a ride that includes the right scenery/station.

Actually there is a almost perfect recreation of Cedar Point. The only problem is I don't know where I saw it.

The other problem with a RCT3 recreation is the complexity of the program vs. the complexity of your average gamer's computer. Very few people own a computer that can handle an even marginally-sized RCT3 park, much less one with people.

If someone did make, no one else could see it, because no one else would be able to load it.

I really haven't been a fan of RCT3, I feel it lost all it's magic from RCT2. The only thing I really liked from RCT3 was the Soaked expansion.

101 on Magnum and counting...

I agree it was a fairly sizable leap bacward in some respects, but I truly think it was ahead of it's time, in a way. The game simply requires way to much memory and processing speed that your average 3d card and computer cant handle to any degree. The beauty of RCT to me is the ability to "go crazy" and invent to your imagination's limits, but on RCT3 you are too limited. Less scenery, less food stands, less everything basically. But that's only b/c of the limitations on people's computers.

Typically a new game strikes at a fairly average processing speed and average 3d card to run. While it certainly runs on lower-end systems, you cant really have the "fun" of RCT games on most computers. I would still like to see a fourth, but I would wait a couple years for the technology to improve to do something more unique.

I agree even a park with very few rides slows down my computer. Yet i am thinking of starting my own recreation of Top Thrill Dragster or Millinum Force.

I have been working on and off, on a recreation for CP in RCT 3. I have post a little on what I have done so far at: http://wbgproductions.com/cp_rct3

Feel free to take a look.
