The worst part is you cant wait for the front if the line is filled, you have you pick another row. Why would they do this? Raptor is my fav. ride in the park, and theres nothing like the front, on all the other coasters they have a much longer line for the front than they do now on Raptor, what gives?
________________________________First as a Raptor ride op let me just say, smaller station or not I am THRILLED to see the airgates. No longer to the ops have to watch for (stupid) guests to run across the platform WHILE the floor is dropping, or just keeping them back behind the yellow line. It does take a tad more time and work for dispatch to open the gates but I welcome the airgates!
On the flip side of that however I can NOT figure out WHY they were placed so far back in the station, the yellow line is HUGE and there is still a huge space before the gates.
As for the front line question. By adding the airgates that took away alot of guest space, so it would be difficult to also have that 2nd line (on opposite side of platform) waiting for the front. It doesn't seem to matter there is no railing for a 2nd front car line, people will still stand there anyway. If there are too many people on the platform now waiting for the front, it causes mass confusion since people who have never ridden Raptor step on the platform and just stand there cause they don't know where to go. I've had guests stand in the 2nd front row line for a while only to realize after a while that wasn't the line JUST to ride! That 2nd front row line gets beyond out of control sometimes, blocking the platform, and other people being able to get on. So I think that is why due to lack of space now they eliminated the 2nd front seat rows. Of course the normal guest isn't going to see that, they will simply stand there anyway :(
As for nothing being better than the front, any true Raptor freak (and I've got the tattoos to prove it) knows the best seats on Raptor are seats 8-1 or 8-4. I save my Raptor front seat rides for the AM test ride when I'm working there. Nothing like you being the ONLY one on the entire train!! :)
I will however have to admit the front seat on Talon does rock! ;)

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that? :)

I couldn't agree with you more.------------------
Honest truth told to me by marina gate readmissions host:Host: Hand stamped, two cents.
Me: That's cool, I think I have two cents.
Host: I better not take it, by the time you leave here its all you'll have.
Why CP didn't deal with this by installing double gates as on Millennium Force, I have no idea. But take heart in the fact that Raptor isn't the only ride where the gate retrofit screwed up the station......
