Raptor Rattle

Does anyone know if CP has fixed the cars on the Raptor. Last year on 1 if not 2 of the trains each time you went up the lift hill there was this horrible rattle from one of the back cars. I think it was the back car (seeing as that is where i sit mostly) Anyway have they gotten that fixed or are they going to?? My bet is it is the anti-rollback device making that rattle each time you go up.

It wasn't much of a rattle. More like an obnoxious clanking! What happened is the noise-reducing material on the anti-rollback has worn out and needs replacing.

So I take it they are going to replace it for next season? Please say yes!

It's been like that for the past few years. I would say when Raptor gets a new coat of paint, the anti-rollback will be fixed. Just a guess.

I think thats the lift belt. So i dont think they are going too.
Actually, I think that pad gets replaced periodically...then it either wears out or breaks, and the lift is noisy again. Actually, when I saw the thread title I thought you were talking about the rattling noise throughout the course that comes from the vibration of the wheel covers. :)

yeah there is that rattle also that you hear through the entire course, I like that one though, that indicates you are riding one lean mean machine. Clunking is a more better word for what i described

That little Raptor rattle is just one of them noises that I MISS right now!! You want to hear some serious noise? Ride Raptor in a DOWNPOUR and listen to the rain FLY off the cars in the inverts-COOL!!!
this is one LONG Winter!!

I dont ever recall seeing any coaster operate in a down pour! Not any time that I have been at the park when there was a down pour. Grant it that only happen twice, but I dont recall seeing the coasters operate during a down pour.

The more you ride it, the more you want it!

I've been on Dueling Dragons in a downpour. It's really quite fun. The rain does sting a bit, however; especially in the front seat.

In general Raptor and Mantis still run in the rain-the only thing they forewarn you about with Raptor is the rust that ends up all over your clothes and does not come out....
I have ridden Raptor in a downpour (was sprinkling off and on all night-during certain rides it POURED) and Mantis as well--it HURTS!
But it is a BLAST! Front car hurts worse than others and good luck trying to open your eyes!!
The ride ops will tell you only certain rides will run in the rain--has to do with their braking systems I do believe....
(My WETTEST ride on Raptor-October 9th, 1999 20x that night!! Still have the rust stains to prove it on one of my sweatshirts!!)

That HalloWeekend Friday was just amazing. It was pouring and painful, but just pure fun.

Hey Jo, how about a re-ride? :)

Hey Tyler---good-another witness that we did indeed fly Raptor in the rain! No fair on the re-rides since I did have company during my flights!
Got Raptor DT's bad--you??

I haven't ridden the Raptor in a downpour but I have ridden it in a light drizzle. It's actually fun but the rain brought some insects out and they ended up splatted up against us. It was pretty disgusting. Not only that, but a fly or something ended up in my mouth. :P
i dunno if i'm talking crazy, but i got to ride the magnum in a downpour, we were the last car before they closed it too. lucky us. it was drizzling here and there and really slicked up the track. needless to say, it was the most intense ride on the magnum i've ever had, it seemed like we were doing 90, but that's just an exaggeration. fun stuff going on that day. later yall.
