Raptor problem July 24

Just wondering if anyone who may have been at the park yesterday (Tuesday) happened to see that there were riders stuck on the Raptor lift hill for a few hours? I noticed them while riding Blue Streak around 1:30 and saw they were still there at 4:30 when I went back that way. They were then helped down using a platform under each segment of the trains. What does the park management offer to these guests when something like that happens? Just curious if anyone knows!

In my experience, if the riders are delayed for a lengthy amount of time they'll be lucky to receive an exit pass good for use at one ride of their choice. If it was a 5 minute delay or some other sort of reasonable time, management will offer an apology, followed by another delay back on the platform while the ride attendant scrambles to collect the name and address of each and every rider in the train.

I had an interesting experience at the park yesterday. I braved Wicked Twister, after having nearly been forced to take the Walk of Shame at the beginning of the season due to the much-shortened belts. (This time I made it with no problem.)

On the last forward pass through the station, the brakes engaged, hard. The first couple of cars barely climbed the spike, before the train rolled back to something approximating load/unload position.

The TL apologized for the shortened ride. The restraints would not release automatically, and a ride op began attempting to manually release the restraints. As soon as she did, what sounded like an alarm warbled, before being quickly cut off.

Next, they tried to roll the train forward ten to fifteen feet, then back to unload. Still nothing doing. Finally they reset for launch, and began the whole ride cycle again, effectively giving all of us on the train a reride. Then and only then were they able to let us off.

Needless to say, I was not bothered by the reride.

I had a similar issue on Wicked Twister (at Coastermania I believe). We slowed down on the last forward pass through the station and barely climbed the spike. Train stopped and then slowly moved back into the station. They unloaded us (gave us the option to get back in line if we wanted to re-ride). They ran the ride one time empty without issue and loaded us back on for another ride which also ran without issue. I didn't complain about the re-ride either.

I wonder if the train can end up stopping between sensors or something and the computer "loses" it. This is from the company, after all, that has put kicker wheels further apart than the length of a train.

My son was on the Raptor train that was in the station at the time the train got stuck on the hill. He said they were all loaded up and ready to go and we expecting to hear "you are out of here" but instead after a few seconds were told the ride was down. They were unloaded and got back in line (at least for a while before they went to another ride).

Wicked Twister either experienced a mechanical breakdown, or a quick stop due to somebody unlocking their seatbelt, recording, or something possibly broke the light curtain.

There are enough sensors along Twister's track that are the same length of the train, so the computer can always find it. The only time the computer cannot find Twister's train is if all control power is turned off and turned back on, for example, every morning when we turn the ride's control power on, we have to Home Position the train (even though it already is in Home Position), just to tell the computer "the train is right here". Here's an example of Home Positioning the train: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmTgqZDYfgs

The sound of the LIMs is awful when it's trying to find the train if it isn't in home position. o.O
