Raptor or Wicked Twister?

We all know how long Raptor's waits are early in the day, since everyone heads there first. Do you think the general public will head to Wicked Twister or Raptor first next year? They will both look impressive from the entrance....

People go to the first thing they see. Raptor had long waits even with Millennium Force open. Why anyone would ever ride Raptor before noon is beyond me. The lines on most everything else don't pick up until noon or later.

I always go to raptor in late afternoon the line flies then, late at night its pretty bad too as its the last coaster b4 everyone leaves.
The first thing they see is true enough, but when you add in the fact that it's probably the second most popular ride in the park .... presto! Long lines and waits.
Second? Hmmm Idoubt it, Gemeni is first and I would say maggie and Millie would be 2 and three but perhaps not.  Any ops know teh numbers?
Last year (2000) it was as follows:

Gemni: 2,437,198

CP&LE RR: 2,057,093

Raptor: 2,055,065

Magnum: 1,985,296

Millennium Force: 1,735,347

Spots 6-10 were Sky Ride, Iron Dragon,  Mantis, Corkscrew and Mean Streak.

The numbers for Raptor, Magnum and Millennium were all higher this season, but I believe the order remained the same.  I have those on my computer because I wanted to compare last year to this year.  Andy told me on closing weekend that we had the third highest numbers in Magnum history.  Its a bit difficult to judge how that stands up though since attendance was down 9% (wow, we kick ass!) but the season was a bit longer (oh, maybe we don't kick THAT much ass!). :)

Seeing as Wicked Twister is 200ft tall and right near the entrance, I think it will be the first thing people see.
...and bright sunburst yellow...
Those figures might be slightly misleading from a popularity stand point. Gemini has higher numbers most likely because of it's tremendous capacity not because it's the most popular ride. CP&LE RR ( and I don't know for sure) also probably has better capacity, not to mention it's not even a coaster. When you eliminate those two, what are you left with? Raptor sitting in the top spot.
But the length of a line figures into my decision to ride a coaster.  I rode Magnum and Gemini this year a lot more than Millennium Force because I could get multiple rides on these in the same time I could get one on MF.  I was there from May 30 to August 24 and I rode MF maybe 10 or 12 times, Gemini like 130 times (100 in one day! :)) and Magnum probably somewhere around 150 times.  Why stand in line for MF when I can get like 7 Magnum rides in the same time? :)  Because of this, I would say that Gemini and Magnum ARE more popular to me.  I believe it is this way for others too.  Capacity IS an important part of determinining popularity.
