Raptor on-ride DVD?

Well, I was bored, so I looked up Raptor on Wikipedia. This is what I found:

The On-Ride Photo Camera have been removed for the ride during the off-season before the 2007 season. They have upgraded to video cameras located on the ride so guests can purchase their expirience on DVD or video capured print.

So, does anyone know if this is true?

Yes, they are adding video cameras to the ride.

Thank you. I didn't know if I should trust Wikipedia.

I would suspect that they didn't get rid of the regular on ride photo cameras because people who don't buy the DVDs will still buy photos. Unless the plan is to have a still picture taken from the DVD recording for pictures, but I can't imagine the quality would be as good. It would probably cause the price of regular pictures to go up too.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Anybody know how much one of these DVD's cost? I'm guessing around 20-30 dollars.

I doubt it will be 30 dollars for just one ride... I would guess between 10 and 20.

What I gather from the website (http://cdride.info/) I am guessing that there is an effective way for them to keep track of what ride you have ridden and eventually rig every roller coaster you have ridden on a day and then sell you one disc. I could be totally wrong, but it sounds like thats the companies plan, not sure what Cedar Fair is planning.

If there is anyone to make it work like it is supposed to, I would expect Cedar Point to do it.

Can I get a ride photo as well?
Yes, in some of the rides we offer the option to buy up to 4 different photos from the ride

Right from the manufacturer's website in the FAQ's.

eat. sleep. ride! - Coaster apparel and accessories!

Ride on, MrScott!

Not sure what the price is going to be, but i can tell you they did replace the old photo system, it's a completely new company. What we will be able to do it take stills from the video and print them out for people who want to buy a photo instead. I doubt the quality would be any better or worse b/c the old system photos were video stills as well.

2002 Mantis Photo
2003 Dragster Photo TL
2004-05 Ride Photo Supervisor
2006 Ride Photo and Trail Sup
2007 Ride Photo/Video Sup and Merch Dept Trainer Intern

They have an on ride video in Canadas Wonderland and the video costed between 18-20 dollers. Can't exactly remember, but i know it was between those prices.

^^^^Ill be sure to buy my all in one video seeing after riding Woodstock Express I'm going to go over to ride Raptor. :)
