Raptor Jo: Our Magnum Expert

Did everyone see our own Raptor Jo on Discovery's 2002 Coaster special. Jo you looked great and sounded like a pro...see there was nothing to worry about ;)

Hey, Raptor Jo was great and all, but my ass was also visible in there (and a cross-platform shot of me with my thumb up). Seriously though - Raptor Jo did an awesome job of selling Magnum and I am glad she represented my favorite ride! :)

Jo, I'm impressed that you had the heights of the second and third hills... not even Magnum Dan delivered those in his moment of fame last year!

I'm pretty sure that he had the height of the second hill.

Incidentally, protocol demands that if you're on TV on a Discovery Channel special, you must show up for the FDRGM. It's tradition.

I laughed when I heard "Cedar Point Jo" and explained to my husband who was confused by my laugh that she's known as RAPTOR Jo on the boards. But, ya can't really say "raptor" when she was riding/describing Maggie.

OMG! I saw ya last night...I though it was you, but I wasn't too sure. My parents yelled 'Hey, Cedar Point is on TV"! I was all like trying to find my remote. I got to it and just caught the tail end bunnyhops of the Magnum, and Raptor Jo saying how CP is her fav place, and come out and try the Magnum XL-200! Great job!! :)

Thanks everyone! I was completely stressed out for the past 9 months wondering how I was going to look and sound! :) Yes I did see you Matt! :) The "Cedar Point Jo" is easy to explain. When I did the interview they asked me about me and CP, I went to say "at CP and at work I'm known as Raptor Jo"...but then stopped myself and said "Cedar Point Jo". NO way was I going to say "Magnum Jo" so I said the 1st thing that came to mind! As for Maggie's stats-I had them written in magic marker on my thigh for "easy" reference :) Something I'm SURE Dan didn't need! :)
I'm glad it turned out so well - I will be signing autographs during lunch at CoasterMania ;)

I taped the whole four hours of the "Thrills, Chills, and Spills" marathon...and I have to say that Raptor jo, you did do an EXCELLENT job. My sister thought that it was the "coolest" thing that I knew who you were. lol. I'm like,"Yah, but I think that her screen name on GTTP is Raptor Jo...traitor." No I am just joking, you did do a wonderful job. I also watched one of the specials on Cedar Point, and I saw MagnumDan (Who I absolutely miss on these boards.) Both of them-in my opinion-did a Very good job, and I cannot wait to get back and ride all 15 coasters.

...by the way Jo, I love the tatoos. That is a really good idea that one day I am tempted to do now.

To give credit too, additional congratz should go to GTTPer CP Irvine starring as Jo's riding partner in the footage.  She ended up sick for a week aferwards, but why let a case of bronchitis stop ya from representing the point!

Congratz, you two both looked great.

2001 Magnum Crew

...Actually we had THREE GTTP'ers in that Magnum shoot. Besides me and Jo, Brian (Wolfhounde) was the guy in the black shirt that they showed with individual footage. I'd say that was an accomplishment, but then the special continues and literally EVERYONE I know from RRC was on the rest :-P Hehe..well the whole thing turned out pretty good considering I had Strep and everyone was going on an hour of sleep or less :-) So congrats to Jo and Brian too! :-)

So Vertigo is officially gone then...right? Because the other night when we were watching the show, on one of the commercials or something (Maybe it was the thrill rides one) they showed vertigo or something like it, and my sister said that she is going on it...so I explained to her that there is no more Vertigo. Why exactly again did they take it out. And I am very glad that I taped the show because I have watched it like 3 times already. hehe:)

One of the towers fell over during the winter, and CP opted not to replace it due to the bad publicity. Maybe Jeff can provide a link to the thread...it was pretty long if I recall.
