Raptor Gum Wall

I noticed that Raptor has a gross gum post. Do employees ever try to clean it off? Was it there last year?

And doesn't Great Adventure have a gum wall also?

I know that Mean Streak used to have one. I think they cleaned that one off at some point and maybe painted over it or something.

The gum wall in next to Millennium Forces ramp. That is why they leave that last quene closed.

Raptor has the gum posts which can't simply be routed around. They get cleaned off but so many people get the idea to deposit their gum there that they get caked quickly.

The gum wall on Raptor has been there as long as i can remember

It became a problem opening day for Raptor.

It's an interesting problem because Cedar Point doesn't provide any of the gum that gets deposited in the park. Guest bring it in on their own.

There's a growing gum collection going up the stairs of Magnum many days as well. People get bored and decide the best way to entertain themselves and get rid of their gum is to stick it onto something. I must also love it when people carve their names into stuff, like the handrail-type things up the ramp to Millenium Force. Excuse me-this is not a bathroom stall!

Ahh I've always wondered why that section of queue is never open at MF. Makes sense now. Gemini also had a gum post on the way up the ramp before the stairs to the station a couple of years ago. Many people put gum on the post and then stuck a penny to it. I thought it would be funny to stick a Loonie to the gum, but then I decided I didn't want to waste a dollar. Every time I've looked this year the area has been free of gum and coinage.

I've cleaned the Raptor gum wall before. It's very disgusting. Blech!

I think most parks have those. I know at Kennywood, when you're in line for the Phantom, there's a roof of a building to your left where everyone tosses their gum before riding. They replaced the whole thing in '06, but before that, the whole roof was covered on the side that faces the queue.

I've seen the ones on Raptor and Magnum, but not the other ones mentioned. The Raptor one has shown up every year since the first time I rode it (and I'm sure it started before that).

It's called Millennium Force, not "Millenium" Force. Thanks.

Here's a thought... Why don't people put their gum in one of the thousands of trash cans that are spread throughout the queue lines or park?

^Because people are stupid.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

There is also a gum wall on Mantis.

What's the policy for each ride on cleaning these things? Do they have a nightly "clean the station" routine? I know it's gross, but I'm thinking it would be a good idea to clean the gum off nightly.

Probably a lot less work to do it at the end of the season.

The gum walls don't bother me as much as what people carve into the railings in line. God only knows what people, especially teens, carve in to there. I was at geauga lake once and waiting on the villain's stairs that go up to the station. on the wood wall, written in huge black marker, was something I wish I could say but this is a family site, and it also had a phone number under it. Has anyone ever noticed this at the villain?

^How long ago was it? Its probably painted over by now.

When I went there this year to ride villain, it was still there only faded!! that wall I guess has not been painted!

And if they did that, maybe less people wouldn't "follow the leader" and just throw gum away like their suppose to.

How about having designated gum chewing areas, I mean the smokers have their own spots. J/K it just shows how lazy society has became

How about posting signs at the sight of the problem similar to the line jumping. There is no excuse for intentional destruction of property.

I personally find the gum walls disgusting and a poor reflection of the park. And any form of graffiti is even worse.
