RAPTOR CLONE IN JAPAN!!!

Look at thrillride.com's rumor section for July 31. There are some pictures from a park in Japan and they have an exact Raptor clone. Now this just makes me mad!!! I don't care where it is, you can't clone the king of inverteds. Also they updated the rumor section today.
Actually, I think there are several clones, that have a similar layout to Raptor. Katun, which opended this year, I saw pics of it and has almost the exact same layout and I think the one your talking about is Orochi(sp)....

Man, I hate parks with clones. Why can't CP get an original ride?
*End humorus statement*

If you were going to clone a B&M inverted, wouldn't you want a clone of the #1 inverted in the world? Why chance getting one that might be cosidered second rate? *cough*GreatBear*cough*

Only 2,290½ miles from Cedar Po!nt.
There are a couple of clones floating around in Japan. A CICyclone clone among them. [Aska]
could you guys who post stuff about thrillride give an EXACT url when you post this stuff. I hate searching around thrillride and finding what part of the page it's on. Just a thought, only takes a couple extra seconds. I'll have to check this out though, this is bad!!!!
Why is it bad that Japan is getting an awesome roller coaster?
Chang is a clone of Mantis, except for another inversion instead of the mess in the second half of the ride.
Chang is also a mirror image.

Kantun is completely diffrent from Raptor. It has the smae drop loop style but the rest is pretty dffrent fomr pictures I have seen.

Katun isn't even close to Raptor, and if you ask me it's probably a better ride. There was an extensive feature in EEC's First Drop. That last wicked helix places the person on the left side only three or four feet from the ground. Wow!

If you look at the pictures I am talking about, there is no way you can say that that is an EXACT clone of Raptor. By the way, that isn't Kutan. That is Orochi.
Man that ride is "Twin of Raptor" those pics show Raptor painted white. If I was Kinzel I hope he got some royalties for that. I was upset as well I mean get original. What did B&M say: "Oh look the blueprints for Raptor fit this space." " I don't really feel like working to much on this project so I'll just change a thing or two." Bottom line I hate direct copies of rides. Why do what has been done?
Hmmmm, interesting concept. Can you copyright a ride track design, or patent it, even if nothing is new except for the track design?

I'm sure you can write something in to the agreement when you build the ride, but if B&M can recover more of their R&D costs and make more money, more power to them!

Hey Soggy you have to understand some things about Great Bear; B&M tried to get the park to build it in another part of the park. If you have seen the ride you know how compact it is. Also the park was a little cautious on building a B&M they thought it would be too wild for their "family" park, thats what a PR rep told me the year it opened.
