Raptor?? Block brake for you

LuvRaptor's avatar
For any of us who has experienced the trim-free kick butt Raptor of days past....it is history! :(
Was at park yesterday and was highly disappointed when the block brake was indeed back on and working VERY well :(
Although I am sure the ride was the same it was years past, it felt slower than crap! I knew that trim free stuff wasn't going to last long but was hoping it would at least last till the end of this season!!!! :(

To my CP buds: Remember I said no more CP stuff? I spent yet another $137.54 yesterday! Yikes! So much for buying my horse that new bridle I had been eyeing! Maybe he'd look good in one of the CP shirts I bought? ;)

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that? :)

Damn. Its been so good without the brake too. Are you sure this is for good?

I only had 1 ever block ride on Raptor in my life, that was 1995 and my first ever ride on Raptor... but I usually ride just before closing when its walk-on. I hope they turn off the trims then :) but if they dont... ill be a saaaaaaaad panda :(

The block brake was off most of the season, but on August 3, they turned it on. They weren't on earlier in the day, but around 11:00 a.m., they turned them on. It took something away from the ride, but it's still amazing.

I rode it again on the 8th and 10th and noticed that the brakes weren't on as hard as they were before. I know the exact reason it was turned on, but I am not going to say why. I want to get rehired next year, ya know. ;)

Jo! You're the only other Raptor enthusiast I didn't meet! I met Raptor Man Dave and Raptor Dave, but not you. Have you heard of Raptor Alex? That's me.

Don't remember exactly when, but I noticed this about a week or two ago. The thing I noticed most was that the helix wasn't nearly as intense as usual.

I was just there on Friday (8/15) and the brake was off.

I noticed the brake was on this past Sunday, but it was off when I rode today. Weird.

Now why would they just turn on the brakes half-way through the season? It doesnt really make anysense to me...

I liked it without the blocks, because the last inversion is my favorite :) and the helix gives you that tingly feeling in your legs like they are being pulled off :)

I rode Raptor eight times two months ago. All eight rides were trim free.
I went on in the past two days, the trims weren't on at all for the most part. There was this "pshosh sound" of the brake lightly holding the train for about a second, but it didn't slow it down AT ALL.

Raptor Jo, not liking Raptor? I thought it was your favorite, you were in the newspaper after all.
