The first B&M coaster I ever went on was Raptor, and was loving it until the cobra roll. I never experienced the sensation of blood rushing to my feet before, and the cobra roll started that feeling. Then it happened again in the helix before and after the mid-course brakes. After that, I enjoyed the remaining inversions...and then came the finale helix. I know B&M (at least in their more older designs) were known for how forceful their rides are, but I just really don't see how some of them are all that enjoyable. I really don't like that feeling of your feet tingling and blood rushing down your legs and then into your feet. I couldn't wait for the ride to be over, and that is rare for me to say, since I love coasters. Then Mantis I thought was even worse. The last part of the ride with all of the twists and turns actually caused pain in my legs from the forces. And once again I highly disliked that weird tingling feeling in my feet. If B&M's didn't have sharp spirals or turns I'd like them a lot more than I do. I know the strong forces are what make some of their coaster unique, but I just don't see how they are fun. Does anyone else not enjoy that tingling feeling? I would go on the Raptor especially tons of times if it weren't for that sensation, and would be one of my favorite coasters. I don't know what it is about that feeling, it's just something I don't like in rides.

I don't really like the feeling, but it doesn't bother me all that much to complain about it. Kinda like how you black out on Millenium sometimes. It's not the most comfortable feeling in the world, but it isn't something I'm going to complain about or anything that is going to keep me from riding it. Mantis, however, is just an all around uncomfortable ride. The idea of standing up on a roller coaster may seem like a cool idea on the drawing board. But then when you get to the real thing it is just odd.
Many years ago, my friend was very nervous to ride Raptor. She was very tense the whole ride but loved it. One major problem though. When she jumped out of the seat onto the platform, she ended tearing a tendon in her foot and ended up being out of work for 6 weeks.
Mantis was one ride I am glad they put a trim on. At the bottom of the inclined loop, my shins felt like they were going to explode. I couldn't ride more than twice per day...now I can ride it as often as I wish.
^I'm always careful as I step down from any inverted coaster because there were a couple of times where I just jumped down and it was one of the most uncomfortable experiences ever.
As for the forces on Raptor and Mantis, I don't find them to be too much. I love the force of Raptor and am one of the few people I know who is willing to ride Mantis. On the other hand I rode Superman: Ultimate Flight at Six Flags Great America (B&M flyer) the other day and I found that to be very uncomfortable. The first drop and pretzel loop were great, but after that the pressure on my head became a bit too much to enjoy the ride.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
