What the heck happened to Raptor this winter??? I was there yesterday and it was running faster and more intense than I can ever remember. We got three rides total, all in the back seat since we couldn't believe how awesome the ride was. I usually sit in the back or towards the back when I ride Raptor, and yesterday this thing was just giving unbelievable rides - like I've never experienced before. The speed was unbelievable through the elements, the G's felt like they were going to occasionally rip my face off (especially in the cobra roll) - and I've never felt G's like this on Raptor before. The helix, which is always great, was spectacular. Raptor has never performed like this before, and if it keeps running this season like it was yesterday, then I WILL have a new favorite.
What did CP do to it?? Is it the paint job? Did they tweak the trains or replace parts? I just hope it keeps running this way.
By the way, my friend and I closed our day with back-to-back rides on this beast, and we were both still feeling our "Raptor buzz" when dinner was served to us at TGI Fridays!

Here's to wood in 2002!
I'm sure the paint on the rails has something to do with it...:)
yeah it is prolly smoother because of the new paint!!

Is is it just me, or is the midcourse trim grabbing harder than before (because of faster speed)?

A bad day at CP is better than a good day at work.
Well, if it is traveling faster through the circuit, then we could logically deduce that the trim has to slow the train more abruptly...:)
Dunno.. I've been on rides this summer where they grabbed pretty good.. adn others where we just went through the blocks without any brakes...

MF 2000 - 269 laps
MF 2001 - Tell ya when I hit triple digits....
I would have to say Raptor does go faster and is smoother now, I noticed that opening day.

We bought a lifetime supply of pudding? How wasted were we last night?!
