Random Business Idea For CP

While we waited out the storm sitting in front of the museum Sunday it occurred to me that maybe they should have a portable rain poncho sales cart. We were content to wait for the rain to slow a bit and get wet on our way back to the car but it occurred to me that people taking shelter in odd places in the park may be more interested in a poncho at that particular moment than I was. For a while there it was pretty nasty and it never did stop raining completely. If somebody is still dry but sort of stranded like under the over hang for the sketch artists booth or other odd places they might be very interested in a poncho. Once you run across the park and get wet before going into a gift shop that sells them you really don't need one anymore. You're already wet.

I think that's kind of smart and good for sales!

I completely agree with you and think this is a GREAT idea. Bring on the poncho carts!

I'm honestly surprised ponchos are as hard to come by in most parts of the park...I will say though, I won't pay the price they have for just a trash bag...

Just like in hoodwinked, I came prepared :P

I think it's a good idea and always handy to have ponchos for sale. At the Columbus Zoo this year we went on a day where it was raining off and on and I had a hard time finding ponchos. Finally found some at one of the gift shops where they charged $5 for the disposable .99 ones you can get at Target. Couldn't bring myself to spend $20 on those things so made the husband go to the car and get umbrellas. But you never know, if someone might break and make a purchase.

I had a couple CP ponchos because I bought one about 8 years ago and then the kids found one in the parking lot early in the season so we took it home. I didn't bring them in that day because even squeezing the air out and putting them in a ziplock bag they were just bulky enough to need a bag to put them in and we were planning to go on Millenium. I actually took them on the week before in one of those string bags by putting it on backwards under my T-shirt before we got on but I didn't feel like doing that again if I didn't have to.

We have regular ponchos at home that would be too big to carry around but sometimes those disposable ones can be quite small to slip into a purse as they are like plastic wrap.

I think it would be a good idea, I still have ponchos from Disney World that I bought in 2003.

I could be wrong, but around water rides (SRF, STR, TC) don't they have carts set up selling these already? I haven't done a water ride in years (White Water Landing was my last water ride at CP), so I could be wrong and they may not set up those carts anymore.

I understand during Halloweekends, these water rides generally aren't open so you may not see them around. Might be a good idea to set up these carts throughout the park especially during rainy days!

It's supposed to rain, a lot, until about 2-3pm, then barely, if at all. I predict it to be a fantastic day to visit crowd-wise.
