We plan on going to cedar point for halloweekends this weekend. And i was wondering if anyone has ever been to halloweekends during the rain, and if all the halloween attractions will still be open despite of the rain. Should i go this week or wait? I know the weather stations aren't always right but just wondering how it is just in case it does rain.
CarnEvil, Fright Zone, Werewolf Canyon, and likely Fear Faire all close during rain.

I don't know about that... I was there on a semi-rainy October Friday night last year and Fright Zone, CarnEvil, and Werewolf Canyon all remained open.
The attractions that you mention are normally blanketed in fog. Due to safety reasons they will shut down any of the walk through attractions when the weather is creating a hazardous condition..ie slippery walkways. I have been in the unfortunate weather pattern 3 out of the last 5 years and miss out on at least 1 of the walk through attractions each time so don't cancel your trip just because of possible showers. It's fall...
Blue people fly sideways when it rains
They won't necessarily close at the first sight of rain, but they will certainly reach a point where rain will close them.

I've a good time rain or shine. It's still a great park, it's just a little wet. :)

I think Werewolf Canyon floods...it should since during the season it is a water ride.
Besides, if its raining, won't the makeup wash off? lol

Werewolf Canyon does flood pretty easily, so it is probably the most likely attraction to close in the rain. We've done Fright Zone in the rain (and the other zones) but it just depends on how much it's raining and how slippery they think the midways are. It gets pretty slick on the asphault on the Frontier Trail, and it's worse in a few weeks when the ground is covered in wet leaves. But if they think it's safe to have us out there, we will be out there.
PS- I really hope we don't get rained out this weekend, I've been waiting 46 weeks to get my scare on! :)

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
The rain may keep the crowds down. Two years ago when I was there for Halloweekends it rained a bit and it set the mood even more. It was naturally foggy and we had a great time.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I went in 04 near the end of October and it rained all of Saturday, it was spectacular. Once of the best times I've had at the po!nt ever.
Well, this Saturday and Sunday will be my final '06 trip. I have to go this weekend or wait until May and that is not gonna happen. So rain or shine or both, I'm there. I can't make it Friday night so I hope the rain is minimal on Saturday and doesn't close the Halloweekend attractions that aren't open on Sunday as this will be my very first Halloweekend visit. I hope Vince is right and at least crowds will be lighter because of the forecast.

I believe the same makeup we used at GL's Haunt in 04 & 05 is the same used for CP - it's alcohol based airbrush paint....
(it Tickles going on!) but water will Not wash it off alone....
(believe me, it takes baby wipes soaked in mineral oil to take it off) so no worries about "half made-up monsters" in the rain!
(hope this helps)
If you stay at Lighthouse Point for multiple days, the rain does not matter. Just head back to your cottage/cabin, get dry, and wait til the rain stops. Then head back into an empty park. :)

Thanks for your feedback everyone, were probably going to go despite of the rain. Thanks for all your help :)
It obviously depends on how much rain. I went last year on a Friday night and it rained the entire night, but everything remained opened.

Thanks for the TR OldCPer. I'm a little bummed about the forecast but whenever I go to CP, I worry about something going wrong until I remind myself of your famous mantra:
"A bad day at CP is better than a good day at work."
That alway makes me feel better:)
