Raging Wolf Bob's Derailed?

It seems that Cedar Fair is trying to cover this up. Seeing how the news does not say what really happened. The Employee don't know what going on and the were quick at getting the cars off.

Cedar Fair does not seem to be starting this year good. Maybe when they bought the Paramount parks it brought a curse.

No, it was def. the track that failed. Matienence was fast to cover the train and get it off, but the next morning you can see peices of wood(the track) and the giant tarp just laying on the ground where the train derailed, i would that think that they would pick these peices up...by the way yesterday there was a few high up cedar fair guys over by waging wolf bobs with bill.

^^ First of all, the cars sat on the track at least until Sunday. I would guess they are still there. They are mearly covered up with a tarp. Second, how fast do you expect them to figure out exactly what happened. It's not like they're denying anythign happened, so I don't know how you can say they are covering anything up.

It took months to figure out exactly what happened on SOB, so the fact that they don't have awnsers in a couple of days doesn't suprise me in the least.

Didn't the lift hill (near the chain motor) break in 2003 or something? I think I remember a friend of mine telling me he was there for that.

Maybe they need to do a little more wood replacing on the Bobs?

so wait.......did it mess up on the lift or another section? ive been gettin two stories all day.

eat @ bob evans, dennys sucks!

This incedent had nothing to do with the lift. halltd is speaking of another incedent that I know nothing about.

No one was hurt, why would they publically talk about the problem?

Most people would over react and not understand. Why shoot yourself in the foot when there is no reason, legal or otherwise, to devulge information.

They are treating this similar to a lift walkdown and nothing more. This is the right thing to do for the park and the company as far as I'm concerned.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Well I was at the park and standing right next to it when it happen. It happened in the turn right next to Dominator. I just happen to look up and watch the train as it came through, what made me look was a sound I heard that didn't sound right, then I heard a what I can only describe as a pop sound and then smoke. The train went on up the hill and then stopped and rolled back. As the train rolled back the back car did de-rail. Maintenance and medical personnel dispatched very quickly and escorted everyone down once they was checked out.

That's too bad about Wolf Bobs. I thought that it packed a little more punch than I expected.

HERE is the picture of the busted up lift from the 2003 accident. I know the time stamp on the photo says '96, but my friend just never bothered to set the date on his camera.

And now we have an accident at SFKK, on Superman Tower of Power... Has anyone noticed a lot of accidents at parks, especially MAJOR parks, this year? Kinda scary...

I was noticing the same thing. Really odd. And tragic at the same time.

Thrills Around the Corner!

I think these incidents are just covered more in the media and online. So, we hear about them more frequently than we used to. But, I'm sure there were just as many accidents before. Maybe not serious accidents like people dying or getting their feet chopped off, but accidents none the less.

Any word on when RWB will be fixed and running again?

If GL wants my advice, they should remove the offending section of track and replace it with a heartline roll. ;)

Last I checked, Cedar Fair had an extra heartline sitting around. If it wasn't already scrapped. I'm sure Sandor and his trusty duct tape could make it work!

Ripcord Crew 2002 / MF Crew 2004

I was there the day the train derailed. The support boards under the boards where the track support boards rest gave out and broke. there were about 3-4 of the boards at weird angles. The Back car slipped into the gap where the track pushed outwards from the weight of the cars. I was sitting in the next train ready to leave the station when it happened. It was deffinately a little unnerving.

The GL staff handled the situation very well and with only one person getting minor burns(leg rubbing the side track).

Ahh the smell of chain grease in the morning....
