Quietest Offseason yet?

I will be the first to admit that I am new to following CP/CF all year long, but simple thinking led me to wonder if this is the quietest off-season for Cedar Point in a long time. My home park, Michigan's Adventure is pretty silent too this off-season.

Makes me think that CF invests their money in their parks in cycles or something.

While it has been quiet, King's Island, Carowinds, and Worlds of Fun are getting new rides. I doubt Cedar Fair has a chart that they follow every year to decide which park gets a new attraction.

Exactly. If your home park is Kings Island, this is the "loudest" year in a decade for your park. CP can't always be the center of attention.

Promoter of fog.

Heresy!

I know that many of us are struggling to get by, I am sure that the parks feel that too. I hope as opening day comes for many of the parks, there will be more heard to help with the opening day!

Yeah this offseason has been painfully slow. Thank goodness for KI i've been following Diamondback's construction religiously and will definently make a trip to KI this summer.

Hmm I wonder if the rumors are true that now that Diamondback is done, that the crew from there is one its way to the point for some contruction? I doubt it but thought i would throw it out there. The question and answer blog was cool today.

Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.

Yes. Throw out the local company, bring up some company from Cincinnati and put them up in hotels.

Where do you hear this stuff/make it up from?

Cedar Fair is using the same company that built Maverick to build Diamonback - Adena Corp.

^ Yes I was going to say...Adena was contracted to build Maverick, Maxair, Skyhawk, and Dragster's station. And CF contracted them to build Thunderhawk at Michigan's Adventure and Diamondback at KI also. So even though that rumor might not be true for the moment, CF will probably contract Adena to build whatever CP may be getting in the future.

C'mon Ben, you know you wouldn't be a bit surprised if they actually did that.

No demolition, no clearing and grading, and no concrete footers (or footings) poured, but a steel erection crew is on its way to CP? That is genius! You really might be on to something there! ;)

Seriously, I can't believe people are still hanging on to the idea that the park is going to pull something out of their ass in three months. The company already disclosed its cap ex program for the year, which as a public company they've gotta do when they're toting around a ton of debt.

Well we may not be getting a ride, but we will for sure get SOMETHING new. Like a new show, restaurant, etc.

^ Thats not really a true statement either though, because CP could just simply work to enhance some places in the park with paint and stuff like that. There is nothing saying that CP has to (or even will for that matter) add anything new to the park and I mean anything.
