Quick VertiGo update... Pictures in the morning..

I just got back from the park and will post pics in the morning when I get them from the camera. Here's the skinny...

Test shoots took place today.. Dan from S&S Power Sports had the honor of being the first rider. Wayne from S&S also got a ride later.

There is some minor construction left such as control booth and some minor fencing to still be done.

The State of Ohio was there tonight to start thier final tests and were doing accelerometer tests late into the night.

I have closeup pics of the controls.. the computers on the back of the seats, the seats themselves, me sitting IN one of the VertiGo seats, and my favorite picture, me with the S&S Crew next to the VertiGo ride vehicle. They will be up in the morning.. All I have to say is this thing is just amazing just to watch. The towers swaying inwards and outwards 6 FEET will probably scare some people away from riding. VERY itimidating look.

Special thanks to Mr. Dick Kinzel CEO of Cedar Fair for helping me get some great pictures and making sure I was taken care of all day along with thanks to Mr. Lee Jewett of Planning and Design, Mr. Dan Keller from Cedar Fair and a VERY special thanks to Mr. Stan Checketts from S&S Power Sports for taking the time to talk to me, answering my questions, and inviting me onsite for some great pictures.

Dan from S&S Power Sports gets to be the first rider of Cedar Point's new VertiGo thrill ride. And you are not seeing things... yes those towers bow in and out abotu 6 feet.

Me taking a test fitting on VertiGo. Big thanks to Stan for insisting that taking pics from outside the fences just wasn't going to work and inviting me onsite.

The rest of the pics will be posted tonight. Including possibly fully loaded test riders. Hopefully ones of Mr. Kinzel and Stan riding, and who knows who else.. ;)

New update..... The price of VertiGo is falling faster than the NYSE.. It is now $10 a shot.. and well worth it.

I got some great pics today of Stan riding his own machine. They trained the crew today and are cycling it tonight for a ..... drumroll please....

A Saturday afternoon public opening.. Yes.. they are shooting for a public opening of tomorrow afternoon, and your's truly has been chosen by Mr. Kinzel himself to be the first non-employee rider.

So if you're at the park tomorrow.. you know where I'll be.. stop by.. say "hi" check out the test shots and watch me have the best day EVER at Cedar Point.

P.S. For a very funyn story.. go see my post in teh Trip Report section..

Ah, finally a face with a screen name...:)

Nice pics!

Are they using simpson(as in simpson racing)straps as restraints?

Good luck in philly j.r.

Actually the restraints are like a smaller version of the Sky Coaster harnesses only these only cover your torso and they attach to the back of the seats leaving you VERY open!
