I'm going to cedar point on the 23rd and I have a quick coaster question. I have not been higher then the Gemini yet. I plan to ride Magnum when I go but I have a few people telling me that I would be better off rideing MF. Would it give me a better experience? It would be a big step up from Gemini.
It will be smoother and over quicker. The MF lift hill takes like 20-30 seconds to pull you up and over, whereas Magnum's takes you up the lift hill slowly, around 1 minute.
I would go for Millennium. The lift is much faster which means less time to think about it. After Millennium you might feel more adventurous, then you should definitely go for Magnum.

Can one not like a coaster on looks alone? :)

Well that's quite shallow. Only liking something because of its looks??
Kind of. I put it on more as my future to ride coaster. But now i'm considering MF. The only part of the MF that looks intimidateing is the steep, high drop.
Millennium Force is the best ride in the park! It's High, It's Fast, and REALLY smooth. If I were you I would deffinatly ride Millennium Force.
Whats wrong with riding both coasters and coming to a conclusion on your own?
Both rides are great, they rank #1 and #2 on my list, but they offer different elements and that is why some like Magnum better and some prefer Millennium Force. Millennium has a great steep first drop, amazing speed and smoothnesss, overbanked turns, 2 tunnels and a some great sections of floater airtime. I know the 1st time I rode it, my jaw was on the floor. Magnum isn't as smooth, but has good speed and great section drop that look to launch you into Lake Erie. It offers an intense pretzal turnaround before what I consider the best part, the bunny hops back to the station that offer intense airtime. The last one I feel is the best as it is in a tunnel and the airtime is a total suprise. Ride both, neither will leave you dissapointed.
Ride Magnum first. Since its 100 feet smaller, you want to work up to bigger, so that Millennium is more exciting when you ride it. If you ride MF first, Magnum won't seem AS exciting anymore.

Ride Magnum first. Millennium Force is such a great ride that it will ruin your experience on Magnum. Definetely ride all the Intamin rides.
Had to throw this in: you don't have to ride Jr. Gemini even though its Intamin, but hit the Demon Drop ;)

Top Thrill Dragster is the best ride in the park. It isn't the 420 foot drop, but the launch that makes it the best. It is short yes, but where else on earth besides a real drag car could you accelerate that quickly. It is an intense ride but extremely fun. And like any Intamin ride it is super smooth. Millennium Force is a very close second in my book. Both rides have their own awesome characteristics. Do not go to this park without riding both. If Dragster is running then you better get in line cause its operation is sporatic, although this year it was more consistant. Dragster won't ruin your experience on any other ride because it is just so different then anything on earth. So if it is running ride it. Like I said earlier ride Magnum before Millennium, or you might as well not ride Magnum.
