Do you think Cedar Point will have to use the moveable queues, or do you think the lines will not be AS long?
Since they aren't going to introduce anything else major this year to divert people's attention from MF, I doubt the lines will be any shorter. I would say that the next year a coaster is introduced, the lines will be significantly shorter.

i know that the line is probably going to to just as long, but. . . . i hope its not, because i plan on getting a lot more rides out of millennium force this year, but if the line is shorter, then great, but if its not, oh well. and thats all i have to say about that.
With the reduction in height restrictions, from 54" to 48" I expect the lines to be even longer!

Make that two Red Garter Rob...Hey, mine is 9 1/2 almost 10 and is just 49 inches...(I'm 6'5"...wife is only 5'1")Genetics who can figure:)
One thing that MF has done is taken long lines away from Magnum, Mean Streak. However, I don't know if anyone else noticed but it seemed that Mantis was very popular last season...hhmmm....could this be because of the 300 ft. monster next to it????

i agree...the mantis is really popular, and the line usually is an hour AT LEAST...and usually right after i ride the force i decide to go on mantis, it being so close to the MF. and rides like magnum, i always got on and off within 15-20minutes, it's changed being one of cp's top rides about a couple years ago. see you in line *** This post was edited by MiLlEnNiUmGuRl on 4/11/2001. ***
I to also got on Magnum at least every time under 30 mins. Of course there was the last Saturday of the season last year where I waited almost 2 hours. But I'm not gonna get into that.

Three things that probably contributed to Mantis' long lines last summer.

3. Entrance relocated to the other side of the railroad track, along the main midway. Probably only a minor factor.

2. Lower capacity on Mantis due to longer load times due in part to the safety belt. But then, that change happened in '99.

1. Three words: Ticket To Ride. Upon being denied access to the Millennium Force queue, guess where an awful lot of people went: the closest big ride.

Both times I've visited Cedar Point (2 days each), Mantis has been a near walk-on while the Summer Spectactular show is going on. We got about 10 rides in a row in probably under 45 minutes! I don't know if it's always like this, but I would suggest giving it a try during the laser show assuming you're not watching it. It's cool to see the fireworks going off right there as your going up the Mantis lifthill. :)

Yeah the lines last season were alot longer, and with it being my fav coaster in the park, it was good to see other people starting to appreciate TCFKAB.

Milennium Mania though.. WOW.. stayed on a train with another Mantis fan for 45 mins without giving up our seats.. THAT was fun...

Yes, Millennium Mania was amazing, did not wait more then 5 minutes.
Whenever I went to Cedar Point last year it didnt seem that there was a long line for Mantis. Except for opening day. I guess I was just lucky.

MDOmnis, what is even cooler is to watch the fireworks going off from the top of the Summer Spectacular screen while you're going through Mantis' vertical loop!
