Questions on Opening Day

My friend and I are driving to CP for our first opening day and are very excited. We both have season pass certificates, but need to get the actual passes. How early should we arrive at the Point so that we can still get in the park by opening? Are the lines generaly quite long for the season passes? Also, how are the crowds in general on opening day (or is this a question better suited for the crystal ball?) Thanks for the help.

The lines on opening day are HUGE for season passes; last year they were several hours long. If you possibly can, either get to the park EXTREMELY EARLY to be first in line, or even better, come a day earlier and redeem your certificates then, or you will be wasting most of your time on the first day in line to get your pass.

If your doing it on OD which I highly suggest AGAINST then you can count on not getting it my Anthem time..Yes the pass office opens a bit earlier than the gates but unless you get to the pass redemption center a few hrs or more early and wait by the door you'll spill into gate time for sure....My suggestion is to renew by mail if you have a pass from last year.....If Not then go a day early or something like Lee suggested..

Try arraiving the day before OD,get your passes renewed,get a motel room for the night that way on OD you can bypass the season pass line and get right into the park when it opens.

For some reason I thought I heard that they will not be processing season passes on May 4 (Saturday Longaberger buy-out day), but CP's website says they'll be processing them daily 11AM-7PM starting April 25 or something like that. I don't really see why they wouldn't process them that day, but maybe I am just losing my mind. Can anyone say for sure that if I get there Saturday afternoon, I can have my pass processed that day?

we were thinking about getting there around 8 a.m. Do you think there will still be a huge line at that time? If not, when is a good time. Staying overnight is NOT an option, and we live about 5 hours away, so 4 am isn't really an option either!
