I've never been to Cedar Point for Halloweekends and we were planning on going in mid October.
My question is about Fridays. If we stay at Breakers Express, will the Friday ticket cost only 20 bucks instead of 29.99 with the discount?
Also, is there a list of what rides will be available mid october? I heard things like Gemini and Mine ride would probably be closed?
The same rides are open (and closed) every Friday. You can find the list by going to www.halloweekends.com, clicking on FAQ and selecting "What rides are open on Friday nights?"

Jugga your link includes the comma, so it does not work. :(
Here is the list, copied from the website:
Maverick, Troika, Blue Streak, Midway Carrousel, Raptor, Cedar Downs, Dodgem, Planet Spooky, Cadillac Cars, Matterhorn, Scrambler, Skyhawk, Wave Swinger, WildCat, maXair, Iron Dragon, Top Thrill Dragster, Wicked Twister, Magnum XL-200, Power Tower and Millennium Force.
The significant omissions would be:
Mantis, Gemini, Disaster Transport, Mine Ride, and Mean Streak.
Shoot the Rapids is also not listed, and I would not expect it to be operating much at all until 2011.

I wouldn't expect StR to be running Friday nights as in the dark it'll be too chilly any way, but I see no evidence of it being closed for Saturdays and Sundays.

Also, Corkscrew is not operating.
As for Shoot the Rapids, I know that the plan was for it to operate and I can see that possibly happening for warm weekends. However, I can see them pulling the plug on weekends where the temps won't hit 80 degrees. I say that only because it isn't a hugely popular attraction, especially during Halloweekends.
I guess I definitely won't be riding Ocean Motion again, as I will only be visiting for the BooBuzz Friday night, and it won't be operating.

I'm curious what you're basing this off of since StR has never operated for a Halloweekend.

I'm basing it off of my own prediction, deduction, and gigantic ego. ;)
When it has been operating this year, Shoot the Rapids has been hit and miss with the crowds. I just don't think people are going to be flocking to it, especially now that the temps are dropping.
In fact, I will go ahead and make the prediction that this will be the ONLY Halloweekends that Shoot the Rapids ever operates during. We'll have to see how it plays out. I wouldn't mind being wrong if they can truly control the amount of "wetness". I think a start would be to not load the front 2 seats of each boat.
Not very much about Shoot the Rapids has gone according to plan this year. I just don't think Halloweekends will be any different.

It would be about as popular as snake river or thunder canyon would be when it's 55 degrees out.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
I am terribly sorry if the answer to this is in another post. For those of you who have done a trip for Halloweekends, all else (such as hours and weather) being equal, do you suggest going on Friday or Sunday for the shortest waits for the coasters?
Of course I now have a reason to stay home on Sundays since the Browns are good again...D'OH!
Friday nights have extremely light crowds. The only bad part is the operating hours are much shorter.

You can probably get on as many (if not more) marque attractions during the six hours on Friday as you could during the entire operating day of Sunday. The last hour of a Friday is especially good if you want to marathon something to death.
The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.
I am leaning towards going tonight, but will the nice weather mean much larger crowds or are Friday nights light regardless? Perhaps more importantly, what about this wind? The east side of Cleveland is very windy right now so I can only imagine it is worse near the lake. what kind of wid does it take to shut down the big boys?
I was there the Columbus weekend back in '08 on the Friday night, by mid night it looked like a summer night crowed. Temps were in the mid 70's that night, made the line's a bit long. On the other hand I've heard nights with cooler weather a lesser crowed shows up.
Quote from a Corkscrew ride op, "And Dragster is down again"
Yikes! According to the Weather Channel here, winds are SW at 38 gusting to 45!!! It's also 91 degrees.
I would expect Dragster to be closed, and probably Raptor, which has been known to valley in the teeth of a SW gale. Don't know about Millennium, though.
Winds are supposed to decrease from 25-35 down to 15-25 this evening, FWIW.

Closing rides wouldn't be my concern, the loss of fog would. I've seen the outdoor zones filled with dense fog on a calm night and I've seen them completely empty on a windy night like tonight. No fog is no fun.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I was there yesterday, and the Park wasn't that busy. It was just the Haunted Houses and a few Scare Zones that had the Longest Waits. The Dragster wasn't Open because of the High Winds, but I don't why the RAPTOR wasn't working. Does anyone have a picture of the MEAN STREAK of where the Fire was. I know it was on the 2nd Hill, but I would like to see what it looks like?
Hmmm I have a different perspective on Halloweekends crowds trends lately, and anyone please chime in if this is similar or very different than your experience lately. Also, I've been to Halloweekends every year since inception.
Back in the early years, Fridays were just dead altogether and felt like you owned the park. In the last 2 years I've gone, the waits for rides have been short to medium on Fridays, but the haunted houses and scare zones have been really packed. Another trend is that as Halloween gets closer, the crowds tend to increase. If the weather is really nice and it's near Halloween, be prepared for some huge crowds, even on a Friday.
Now this is where it gets interesting. Last 2 years I've gone on Sundays, even near Halloween, I've found next to no wait for the houses, and low waits for the rides. Maybe it's luck, but it's a trend to follow for me...
I'm going to try a Friday and Sunday again this year. Avoid Saturday at all costs.
