Question of Color

While driving to mansfield from toledo over the holiday i noticed something... Has anyone noticed that communication towers are painted red and white? I was just wondering if maybe they had to paint one tower red and white because of the height of the tower? This could be a dumb question but I was just wondering since most of the other rides don't have multiple colored tracks (that i can remember)...

Thanks,

Aaron

First of all, the red and white alternating colors are for the launch thru lift track. Some of it has already been installed for a while and some more is laying by the supports. The track above the lift after the launch is solid red. Second, the FAA does not have coaster track regulations. They may have tower regs, but all the tower supports are yellow. If this was a color scheme for airplanes to see, the whole tower would be red and white.
I think the alternating colors on towers is just for apperance. The only one I can think of that is red and white down here in Cincinnati is the huge 700 WLW tower that has been there since like the 50's (which may have had something to do with the color). There are other big ones around the city but they are all just solid gray.
Ok that answers my question...

Thanks
